This A4 colour desktop LED printer is a versatile workhorse that will meet the needs of the small office or, for example, the busy student who needs to print out essays or lab reports.

The Brother MFC-J6945DW is one of Brother’s Business Smart X-Series and is a versatile 4-in-one A3 colour inkjet machine targeted at the varied needs of today’s small offices.

The Expression Home XP-5100 is a compact 3-in-1 inkjet machine with WiFi connectivity that can print double-sided and has been designed to meet virtually every need of the home user.

The WF-2860DWF is a 4-in-1 print, copy, scan and fax inkjet machine in Epson’s Workforce Range that is targeted at the smaller business user.

The Brother HL-L2375DW is a fast small footprint mono laser printer that is networkable and does double-sided printing. It will meet the needs of those who print a fair amount but don’t need colour to enhance their documents.

The Brother MFC-J5330DW is a 4-in-1 multifunction device that can print up to A3 in size and is targeted at the small office.

This is a four in one unit as it prints, scans, copies and for those who still use it faxes. However for those wanting to use it via Wi-Fi you can print from any mobile device as well as direct from an SD Card so it’s very versatile.

This was actually announced over a year ago but due to a change of agency it was only when sometime later I spoke with them that one was forthcoming. The reason for speaking was another such printer recently reviewed from another manufacturer.

As this printer is designed to print square images then the best results will be when you set your phone to capture square images which on most will be called 1:1. However I also printed some more normal 16:9 and 4:3 images.

The Brother DCP-J774DW is a versatile A4 3-in-1 inkjet printer targeted at the low-volume SoHo user who wants versatility in a package that doesn’t take up too much space.

Epson continues to develop and improve its range of Eco Tank devices included its ET-2750 model.

Certainly not as small as the last ‘Small A3’ unit I reviewed but this uses tanks not cartridges and unlike the first tank unit I reviewed that had the talks on the side these are internal and joy or joys the tanks have no spill technology that works.

In the case of this unit it is a four in one device as not only does it print, scan and copy but it also has fax capability and while this may not be required by the majority it is certainly used by my health centre to send urgent prescriptions to chemists.

The Epson ET-2750 EcoTank inkjet printer is a compact 3-in-1 print/copy/scan unit which, instead of small capacity cartridges, uses built-in reservoirs that are filled from large bottles of ink. This is claimed to reduce printing cost by 74% and so meet the needs of the busy home user who wants to keep an eye on costs.

While I have seen All In One units in both grey and black colours this is a first for me, a black unit with a red top, before you ask it’s not my blood. While even if it has a CD to make installation easy it refuses to use it and downloads which could be a problem for those with a poor Internet connection.

This is an inkjet All In One meaning it prints, scans and copies. It is a five ink offering with the pigment black cartridge being considerably larger. So it is Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black plus the second pigment black to get the five cartridges.

This is a very small A3 All In One unit. For my review time it sat on top of my own A4 All In One and only overlapped by a small degree. So it can of course still print A4 as well as the larger A3, it is a six ink offering and for good measure will print on CD’s and DVD’s.

Adding to its range of WorkForce Pro business multifunction products, Epson has released its WF-4720DWF model.

This is the latest offering from Canon in their Print, Scan and Copy range often called an All In One. Around 360MB of hard disc space will get all three modules working with a PC, however these days these items work with other devices as well.

As part of its family of All-in-One devices, Epson has developed its Expression Premium XP-640 product. Predominately decked out in lacquered black, this All-in-One device combines the functionality of print, scan and copy with features that include automatic Duplex printing, local and remote output plus Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and USB connectivity.

I know it’s a long time since the last Canon printer review, partly caused by Canon changing their fulfilment house. Here hot off the press is the latest Canon Pixma offering the TS5050, this is a three in one unit meaning it prints, scans and copies.

Unlike the previous Epson All-in-One which I looked at recently, the Epson Expression Photo XP-960 is of the more traditional type that uses ink cartridges rather than the bottles provided Eco Tank models with their ink supply.

Around four years ago I reviewed my previous Kodak printer, I was told they were shutting that part of the business but still producing cartridges for their units. I saw a Kodak offering last month from Curry’s for a Kodak Printer so this sent me into detective mode.

Inkjet printer cartridges from various manufacturers continue to be a popular subject especially when users are expected to purchase regular replacement units at premium prices. One company that has adopted a different approach to the replacement of its ink is Epson with its EcoTank technology.

Just 12cm wider than an A4 unit this six ink inkjet offering might solve problems for those who need the ability to print A3 as well as A4. It can also print direct from a range of cards and memory sticks, connection can be via Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB.
