This looks rather like a 35mm offering and it has functionality. It is very useable as a basic digital camera coming with internal memory but it can support an SD card.

The worst weather – snow wise – for some time in the London area marked the launch of fourteen new cameras from Samsung, some so new they did not even make the press pack as authority to mention them only came overnight.

Really small in size, it will easily fit in a shirt pocket without appearing in the slightest bulky. Is it however reasonable in zoom and good in mega pixel, could this be another Canon winner?

Certainly a camera small enough to fit in any pocket or purse and while it is supplied with a woefully inadequate memory card it does come with a case as standard.

This is probably just too big to fit in most pockets but the lack of a case is not vital as the lens is covered and the screen is capable of being rotated 180 degrees as with a lot of camcorders.

This powerful 5MP camera with 3.4 to 1 optical zoom is small enough to fit into the smallest pocket but has one of the biggest TFT displays I have seen.

If capturing still images no longer satisfies your creative urge then perhaps it is time you considered a camcorder such as the DC100 from Canon.

The megapixel ratings of various digital cameras continue to increase. Acer now has an 8 megapixel model.

Acer may have been late coming to the digital camera marketplace but the company has quickly made up ground as its latest models show.

This is a small camera but not as light as you may think, it definitely has a solid feel and when you look at the specifications you know why.

An extremely long name for such a small camera little bigger than a throwaway cigarette lighter but with the ability to take both video and still photos the latter at 1.3megapixels.

This is a 7.1 mega pixel offering with 4x optical zoom, however it is still small enough to fit in a pocket or bag.

I think of this as a semi professional digital camera however the price seems to put it in the amateur camp. Certainly making adjustments to zoom and focus on the lens stem is a big leap from point and shoot.

A compact camera, ideal as a first digital camera, the controls are easy to use and anyone coming from a film camera will be delighted with the results.

Not long ago all Camcorders recorded to tape, then some were dual tape and memory card. Now it seems that hard disc is all the rage.

Kodak are certainly a name in photography, no doubt most of our grandparents had or have a Box Brownie in their lofts. Now they are a company producing digital cameras.

No matter how much storage capacity your digital camera has, you always need more space. A portable CD-writer could provide a solution.

Kodak have produced two cameras that have very similar specifications, originally I planned to review them both together but decided against that as there are more differences than may at first appear.

This is very small unit and it would easily fit in a pocket or purse. It looks smart with it’s brushed silver front, most importantly it takes decent images.

Pop fans, scouts & guides plus military personnel use them. So maybe it is time budding photographers should consider using a tent a photographic studio for certain tasks.
