Arriving as one of its first digital camera offerings in the UK is GEs (General Electric Co) E1235 model.
click to enlarge Like the other cameras in this initial launch batch, the E1235 is designed, manufactured and distributed by General Imaging. Promising a blend of high technology and performance, the E1235 is currently the only camera from the GE range to feature 12 megapixels achieved with an auto-focus 35-105mm lens featuring 3x optical and 4.5x digital zoom.
While you can receive a personal and friendly service from some traditional book sellers, the same is not always true when purchasing books online. Perhaps a new website can change this public conception.
Recently I was involved in a three-way discussion as to whether traditional books or the electronic digital variety that could be viewed on various portable devices was the chosen reading method. While one member of the group was a strong advocate of the digital format, the choice of the other two was for the more traditional format of paper books. The impetus for this discussion was the imminent launch of a new approach to online book purchasing.

Verbatim has added its own touch of colour to the LightScribe labelling technology.
Verbatim has been involved in the development of data storage technology for the best part of 40 years. During this period Verbatim has been active in various areas such as floppy discs; Magneto Optical storage media; CD and DVD formats; plus High Definition media Blu-ray and HD DVD. To this impressive list, we can add portable USB devices; flash memory cards; external hard drives; and, more recently, computer mice.
As a fan of puzzle games I am always on the lookout for new titles such as this next offering from Urse Games.
Season Match is one of those rather annoying games that you settle down for a quick five minute session and the next time you look up a couple of hours have flown by without you realising it. The rest of the day is then spent trying to catch up with other tasks. Of course it does help if you a fan of the colour matching genre of which this game is a prime example.

No matter how many USB ports you may have, there will probably be occasions when none are available to connect a new device.
On a recent surfing expedition, I was checking out Belkin's various products and noted that the company currently had 29 different USB hubs as part of its product portfolio. Admittedly in some cases the only difference was the colour of the hub but there was certainly enough choice to satisfy the discerning user. Among the newer models were a clip-on hub and a flex hub which are the subjects of this review.

Nomophobia, the fear of having no mobile connectivity, is not a complaint that should affect those with the WP-SI device (hereafter referred to as the Skype phone) from 3.
This product brings together Skype capabilities with those of a 3G mobile phone in a single unit. While the white and blue colour scheme adopted by this device might not be to everybody's taste, other aspects of this mobile phone are more appealing. Measuring 100 x 44 x 13.6mm and weighing 86g, this Skype phone is of the candy bar style.
No matter how careful you are, your computer could benefit from an encounter with software designed to provide spring cleaning facilities.
Now up to version 8, System Suite Professional brings together a collection of utilities developed to maintain, protect and enhance your computer's performance. Following the entry of a 29-character serial number, the product's installation process gives you a range of choices as you decide whether to include the Firewall and antivirus/spyware options or not.
If you thought life was hard then maybe you should consider the role of a character from a Russian science-fiction novel.
click to enlarge Hard to Be a God is not another take on the God genre made popular by such titles as Civilisation. Instead this game is a mixture of Hack & Slash with RPG overtones that aims to please followers of both types of game play. The storyline of the game is claimed to be based on a 1964 sci-fi book by the Russian Strugatsky brothers.

With the familiar orange W logo, there is no mistaking the W910i handset as being anything but another member of the Sony Ericsson family of Walkman phones.
Tastefully decked out in Noble Black or Heart Red (who thinks up these colours), the W910i is a slider-type phone. It has a display that certainly grabbed your attention. Taking over most of the front area, this 2.4 inch TFT screen is capable of showing 262K colours in 240 x 320 resolution presenting a clear and sharp display. Located just below the screen are a series of control and navigation options.

Making use of a lift that travels at 22mph, a visit to the top of BT Tower was rewarded with ice cream and news of an addition to BT Broadband portfolio.
As one of the world's leading providers of communications solutions and services, BT has recently expanded its range of broadband services with the launch of its BT Total Broadband Anywhere product. Not surprisingly, due to the way service providers attempt to ring-fence their customer base; this product is securely tied to the various BT Broadband service options currently available.

Bacon is not the only product from Denmark that has been feeding my interest as I take a look at a television receiver from that country.
In the past I have looked at a number of television receiver products from various manufacturers. These have ranged from cards that need to be inserted into an internal slot to USB devices covering analogue and digital channels. However this is the first time that I have had the opportunity to look at a television receiver from a company based in .
Time to step back into history and join in the Napoleonic Wars for this game from AGE Studio.
Born in on , Napoleon Bonaparte (or the little Corsican as he was sometimes referred to) is regarded by many as the greatest strategist the world has ever known as he attempted spreading his control throughout and surrounding areas. Rising through the ranks of the French army, this charismatic individual reached the exalted rank of Napoleon 1, Emperor of France when he crowed himself in 1804.
Where Adobe led the way with the PDF standard, other companies have produced more economical ways to create documents in this format.
I'm willing to bet that most of us will have a number of PDF (Portable Document File) documents located in various folders on our hard disk. This lingua franca of the electronic document world was developed by Adobe and is well served by its Acrobat product for creating such documents and a Reader which enables the content to be portrayed on a computer screen in all its original glory.
Never the one to indulge in half measures and with a strong preference for world firsts, Archos has taken the opportunity recently to announce some new products and additions to the companys current range of service offerings.
I'm sure whether to classify the first announcement making up this report as multi-functional or more of a convergence in technology as Archos enhances one of its existing products. That product is the Archos 605 WiFi Media Player which featured in an earlier review ( ). Basically the announcement covered a new GPS In-Car Holder that turns the 605 WiFi portable media player (PMP) into a GPS navigation device without compromising the device's original multifunctional capabilities.
While hardly rating as one of my favourite tasks, it could be said that I have been having a ball recently when vacuuming my home.
The original computer mouse featured a ball that allowed it to be moved smoothly in any directly without the need for additional adjustments by the user. Believing this same principle could be adapted for use with a vacuum cleaner, especially considering the trend towards smaller homes with the UK leading the rest of Europe in this respect, James Dyson and his team of engineers set about designing a new vacuum, cleaner based on the ball principle.

While SatNav devices will direct you to a location, Loc8tor can perform a similar task when searching for an item.
Memory is transient. I am not referring to computer memory but that of my own flaky ability to remember where I last placed certain articles that I use on a regular basis. Those afflicted with a similar short term memory loss will know how frustrating these "senior moments" can be especially when you are in a hurry as is often the case. Loc8tor Ltd believes it has a solution with its location device technology.

Actually this is not the first sighting of this strange creature with its overwhelming desire to save members of its extended family from destruction.

Time and the technology behind the development of mobile phones do not stand still as can be seen with this next handset.
Joining the ranks of mobile phones with a 5-megapixel camera is Sony Ericsson's K850i model. This candy-bar style phone adopts the standard Sony Ericsson arrangement of having the camera taking over the rear of the unit with the front housing the telephony functionality. However there are a couple of design aspects that might cause some initial confusion with the user.

To paraphrase a popular performer of an earlier generation, I wanna tell you a secret.

Come wind, come rain, come shine (maybe there is a pointer there), whatever the vagaries of the weather in April, we try to bring you the latest news as it happens. In this case it was the launch of LG's next generation Black Label phone. First we had the Chocolate phone (including a white version) with its innovative touch panel.
Up until recently I had not heard of the Sandberg Company. One of its first products to reach me is the Panther Sound System.
Hands up all those who remember the beeps and squeaks that were the audio output limitations of the games that were designed for the early computers. Early music renditions from computers were of a similar elementary level. Fortunately it didn't take too long for developers to come to the aid of our auditory senses as sound cards became a must have addition to those early systems.
It is not only cartoons that can feature talking feet; you can perform the same trick yourself with a little help from BamZ.
With different types of footwear gaining fashion icon status, you may perhaps wonder what the next stage (or should that be step) will be in the development of this particular item of clothing. While logos are already an established part of what we wear (especially the fashion conscious who dress to be noticed rather than for comfort), maybe the possibility of some personalised advertising in the form of a message might appeal.
Health checks, while not compulsory, can solve and prolong active life. Does your computer need such a check up?
Computers, like users (at least this one), tend to slow down with age. This is as a result of the demands placed on computer resources by various peripherals and software. As a result it could be to your advantage, and certainly benefit your computer's performance, to carry out various health checks and house-keeping tasks. TuneUp Utilities 2008 is a product that offers to help in this respect.
Completing our look at BitDefenders three-pronged protection approach brings us to a total security solution.
Rather than take the pick-and-mix route when deciding on how best to protect your computer from outside influences, you could opt for an all-in-one approach as adopted by BitDefender Total Security 2008. Arriving with the promise of providing comprehensive proactive protection, this product is aimed at digital families and those looking for a total solution for their peace of mind needs.

My first computer had a 20MB hard drive. How times have changed with the demands of modern software and more economic prices for storage.
The gigabyte is the modern day currency when considering storage capacity and even then three figures is often the norm rather than the exception. Take, for instance, the latest mini offering to join the Maxtor brand stable. This is the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini that is available in 80GB, 120GB or 160GB versions with the latter being the subject of this review.
Forget modern weapons, especially of the mass destruction type, and don your armour as you prepare for battle in a land of fantasy.
Set in the , Fantasy Wars is a turn-based strategy game developed by Ino'Co/1C and published by Nobilis. It brings together humans, orcs, elves and dwarfs in a battle for supremacy. You are given the choice of taking part in a campaign, single mission or multiplayer game as you select from an opening menu that also includes a tutorial option.
Is it a notebook docking station? Or is it a keyboard? In this case it is the Logitech Alto Cordless product which combines both features.
I have a theory that somewhere in the world, residing in a darken room, is somebody who has been set the task of dreaming up names for new products within the sphere of computing. One of the latest offering to emerge from this room is that of Alto Cordless which brings together a notebook docking station and a wireless keyboard. Developed by Logitech, the Alto Cordless adopts a predominately black covering for both of its main elements.
Continuing my look at the new BitDefender range of products, it is the Turn of BitDefender Internet Security 2008.
As part of its stated policy to protect users' computers from various malicious threats, Softwin has released the latest versions of its BitDefender range of products. Aimed at providing protection for all your Internet-connected needs for the family or small business user is BitDefender Internet Security 2008. This product takes over the role filled previously by BitDefender Antivirus Plus v10 and BitDefender Professional Plus v9.

Tail-less, cordless, ball-less, optical and laser-enhanced, mouse development continues with the arrival of a device that can act as a picture frame.
They say that owners grow to look like their pets or should that be the other way round with pets growing to look like their owners. Whichever way it is, maybe there is a link to the concept behind the development of a new mouse from Saitek. This is the appropriately named Photo Mouse which allows you to customise the device by adding a favourite photo whether this is a loved one, pet, special occasion, favourite location or celebrating an achievement.
