In the past I have looked at a number of speaker systems from Edifier.  Several of these products have featured innovations shapes to add visual appeal to their audio quality.  However this next offering from Edifier is more conservative with regards to its shape although it does have other aspects which have benefitted from the company’s way of looking at products.

As our mobile devices have developed over the years with changes to their size, weight and functionality, one particular aspect has, perhaps, lagged behind with regards to customer appeal.  We mostly love the increase in screen size with higher quality images and maybe a gram or two shaved off the weight.

With multiple floors, rooms, corridors and facilities, a hotel is often used as an ideal location for an adventure game.  In the case of the obviously named “Hotel” title, the location is the Bellevue Hotel built on the same site as a medieval castle long ago.  Throw into the mix a New York Police Detective, named Bridget Brightstone, some historical characters and you have a game to challenge the player.

RevoNext, the Swedish audio specialist has added to its product portfolio with the release of the company’s RX8 offering.  This is an in-ear personal listening device.  The RX8 kit consists of the clearly labelled left and right ear pieces units, audio cable and a spare set of covering caps plus a small multi-lingual User Guide that features a small typeface so you might need a magnifying glass – I know I did.

With the title of “Fetch!”, the main subject matter of this next game should be reasonably obvious.  To avoid any confusion regarding this matter, the central character of this particular game is a dog, named Bear, who is kidnapped by an evil fire  hydrant.  Just in case you are worried about being cast as a dog, I should explain that your role in this game is that of Milo, a young boy who is the dog’s owner, best friend and would-be rescuer.

Based in Milton Keynes, Synology is a company that is synonymous with NAS technology, devices and related issues.  Recently I have been checking out the company’s DS119j product.  With the “DS” part of the product’s title standing for “Disk Station”, this NAS box is being marketed as a budget-friendly, versatile and easy-to-use one-bay NAS product designed to host, share and protect the data of personal users.

The R1850SB is a speaker system from the Edifier bookshelf range of products.  With support for Bluetooth, PC, Optical/Coaxial and AUX input, this particular speaker system is made up of a pair of speaker units, remote control, a selection of leads and a small User Guide booklet covering a number of European languages.  All the various components of the kit, apart from the colour coded RCA and jack 3.5mm plugs, adopt a standard black coating.

"Domini Games","Labyrinth ofHaving visited Stonehenge once, by dawn’s early light on the way to a folk festival at Falmouth, I was drawn to this title of Labyrinth of the World – Stonehenge Legend.  Combining the development skills of Domini Games and Big Fish Games, this title belongs to the popular Hidden Object Adventure genre.  I have been looking at the Collector’s edition of the game which comes with a number of bonus items.

Blade is a French company founded in 2015 by Emmanual Freud, Acher Criou and Stéphane Héliot.  The company was originally set up to serve the French market but has recently expanded its influence into a more worldwide spread.  This has been brought about by success at raising ₡51 billion in order to help it reinvent the way personal computers are used worldwide by creating the PC-as-a-service. otherwise known as Shadow, residing in the Cloud.

Joining Huawei’s impressive family of smartphone handsets is the company’s P20 model.  With dimensions of 70.8 x 149.2 x 7.65 mm (W x H x D) and weighing 165g (including the non-removable internal battery pack), the P20 handset comes in a range of different colours.  Depending upon your sense of style, you could opt from a choice that includes Morpho Aurora, Pearl White, Twilight Black, Champagne Gold, Pink Gold and Midnight Blue.

There are “Dark Days to Come” or so warns the subtitle of Witches Legacy.  This Big Fish developed game belongs to the Hidden Object Adventure genre of game play.  I have been looking at the Collector’s Edition of the game which features a number of bonus items but more on these a little later. As usual with games of this type, profiles can be created to record the progress made by individual players.

With a title that clearly indicates its targeted area, the Philips OneBlade Face + Body product is a shaver whose general appearance might give the impression that this is a manually operated device.  However appearances can be deceptive.  In fact this particular shaving device, with its offer to trim, edge and shave any length of hair, is a rechargeable battery driven product.

Described as a magical Match 3 Adventure, Rune Lord is a Unity developed game featuring a battle for who owns the world.

It is time to step back to the year 1844 and enter the world that encompasses the environment of Lamplight City as developed by Francisco Gonzalez.  This is the same person who was also responsible for “A Golden Wake” and “Shardlight”.  Set in an alternate steam punk-like Victorian past, the game of Lamplight City is described as a detective adventure played out over various borough areas of this city with its mixed population.

With this product Thumbs Up! has combined old and modern technology into a product that has been released under its Orb Gaming trademark.  The product is entitled the Virtual Archer. Forming the main part of the Virtual Archer product is the collapsible classic bow unit.

Featured as part of its 2018 Future Ready Event at its Newbury HQ, Vodafone announced a new approach to the way the company planned to sell a range of smartphones.  With its distinctive capitalised four letter title of VOXI, this Vodafone inspired service has been designed to be a youth’s mobile brand that is initially being targeted at the under 30 years age group who have specific needs for their mobile world experience.

Firmly established as the top-selling software for running Windows applications on a Mac system, Parallels Desktop is now available in its version 14 offering for the Mac with its 2018 release.  As with the previous version of Parallels Desktop, the software does require a MacOS base in order to operate.

Like many, no doubt, I can still remember my first encounter with the world of Star Wars, Hans Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and the other iconic characters who existed “A long time ago in a Galaxy far away”.  It was a cold Sunday evening as I joined the queue of eager cinema goers to see what the future held for us according to the imagination of George Lucas.

Sometimes an outside influence can direct me towards a specific game’s title.  In this case it was an article in a daily newspaper reporting on the escapades of a macaw named Jessie.  It seems Jessie decided to take a break from her comfy perch and took up residence on a neighbour’s rooftop in Cuckoo Hall Lane – where else would you expect a female bird to decide where to squat even if laying eggs was not on the agenda.

MAGIX has taken a three-pronged approach with the 2019 version of its Movie Edit Pro software package.  Users are given the option of purchasing the Classic, Plus or Premium product depending upon their needs and financial situation. I have been looking at the Plus version of this video editing software for the basis of this review.

When I checked out the previous version of Pinnacle Studio, I noted that the installation routine was not the quickest operation when completing this task.  The same can be said of this latest version.  Running the software’s installer module took 67 minutes to set up the Pinnacle Studio 22 Ultimate on my work system.
