While some tend to change their mobile phone as often as their socks, others wait to see what the latest batch of new handsets has to offer.

Sony Ericsson X1i Never the one to sit back and rest on its past achievements, Sony Ericsson has
announced a number of new models to its range of mobile phones. These new models join
the existing Cyber-shot, Walkman, web-enabled and current range of touch screen organisers
plus the new Xperia brand.
Rather than ask TomTom the way to go, this device could keep the children entertained.
Although SatNav or GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) devices can prove extremely useful when it comes to providing navigational assistance to travellers as they get from A to B, these types of devices often remain unused for long periods. You maybe an infrequent traveller or perhaps you stick to routes with which you are familiar and as a result navigation instructions are not required.
Whether you are a frequent or infrequent visitor to hotels, do you ever think about what goes into making your stay a pleasant experience?
Developed by Enlight Software, Hotel Giant belongs to the business management game genre. As its title indicates, this game deals with creating and running your own hotel. Now available as part of the budget White Label from GSP, Hotel Giant is one of those games that insists on the product CD being in the drive before it will actually load and start.

Taking your favourite MP3 tracks with you on a long car journey certainly helps reduce driving tension.
It was not all that long ago when using a FM Transmitter device would have been considered illegal although you could purchase one without impunity. This unusual state of affairs was brought about by regulations that had been set up during the Second World War. Fortunately these restrictions relating to low power FM transmitters have been removed.
Although taking photographs with your digital camera is fun, even more enjoyment can result from creating your own prints and sharing them with others.
While the printing of photographs could be carried out using a basic inkjet or multifunction device, for increased functionality and ease of use you might prefer a dedicated photo printer such as the HP Photosmart A826 Home Photo Centre model. Despite being fairly compact, measuring 275 x 263 x 244mm (H x W x D) and weighing 2.63kg, the photo printer is not particularly portable as it lacks a carry handle.

Labels provide an easy method of identifying objects and DYMO has a range of devices to help in the production of these items.
The LetraTag QX50 belongs to the DYMO Personal Labelmaker family of devices for producing labels for a wide range of household uses. The product arrives in one of those bubble packs that does it best to make life difficult as you try to extract the content from the confines of the packaging.
For those not tall enough to qualify for the real thing, computerised basketball management can be an option for fans of the game.
. If reports are to be believed then it can be financially rewarding to fail when taking on the role of a national sports team. Get the sack and have your contract paid up is the route taken by some. Unfortunately this approach has yet to make an appearance in the various sport management titles that I have seen. The latest such title is FIBA Basketball Manager 2008.
Adding to its recently redesigned product line-up of colour inkjet multifunction devices, Brother has released its DCP-350C model.
This product brings together the capability to print, scan and copy documents from a single item of kit with the aid of a colour LCD feature. Combining matt silver and creamy white colours with a rectangular box shape, the DCP-350C has an attractive appearance that would not look out of place in a small office or home environment.

When looking for a device that is both different and ecological aware you might like to consider Oscar.
USB 2.0 hubs tend to differentiate themselves from the competition by a combination of three main features. There are hubs with different numbers of ports (4 and 7 being the favoured choices); a range of shapes such as rectangular or domed varieties; and colours of varying hues. This divergence has resulted in numerous hubs being available from which users can make a choice to suit their own preferences.
When walkies are out of the question but a puppy is top of your wish list then maybe a computer can come to your rescue.
While we may be regarded as a nation of pet lovers, not everybody's circumstances allow them to include one of the numerous household pets, especially the ever-popular dog, into their current lifestyle. One possible solution to this "lack of a pet" dilemma could be to take advantage of a virtual pet such as provided by Puppy Luv. This puppy on a PC offering is the number one selling virtual pet range for computer users.

Have you noticed how dust and dirt tends to congregate at the most inconvenient times and places? Perhaps a handheld cleaner is the answer.
One of the more successful examples of recent British ingenuity is that demonstrated by James Dyson and his desire to make things work better. Following his successful development of an industrial cyclone tower cleaner, which removed powder particles through the use of centrifugal forces that were 100,000 times greater than gravity, Dyson put to mind to producing a domestic appliance that used the same principle.
Yet another digital photo frame joins this increasingly popular category of adding an IT-based decorative addition to your home furniture.
Up until very recently, at the mention of Lite-On my thoughts would immediately focus on the company's optical disk technology. After all I have reviewed a number of the company's optical drives in the past and my own PVR unit is a Lite-On HDD/DVD Recorder that I purchased when my VCR decided it preferred eating tapes rather than playing them.

Oral hygiene is often a neglected task so maybe technology can help improve the situation.
Judging by various reports in the popular press, and backed up by the experiences of a couple of my relatives, access to a dentist as a National Health Service (NHS) patient has become increasingly difficult of late. More and more dentists seem to be closing their doors to new NHS patients or even going completely over to the private sector.
Streaming your music collection to different rooms in your home is the task undertaken by a Logitech product.
Like many others, over time I have built up a large collection of MP3 song titles stored on my computer. I hasten to add that all the various tracks have been legally purchased. While this is a convenient method of storing a music collection, it does place certain restrictions on the ability to listen to the music.

With several excellent web cam products available, United Pepper has taken a brave decision to release their Fairtrade version of this type of device.
Having recently introduced you to Oscar with its USB 2.0 facilities, it is now the turn of United Pepper's Lili webcam to take centre stage. Like Oscar, Lili forms part of United Pepper's initial launch of Fairtrade and ecological friendly products as the company adds its own slant of normal design concepts for computer peripherals.
Colour laser printers are now appearing with more economic price tags. However, while lighter on the pocket, they are still heavy to move around.
The Lexmark X502n All-In-One is certainly a substantial piece of kit. Measuring 534 x 482 x 437mm (H x W x D) and weighing 35kg, it is the type of unit that is unlikely to be moved around too much as it provides print, copy, scan, fax and ADF (Automatic Document Feed) capabilities whether connected to a network or local computer using either Fast Ethernet or USB 2.0 connectivity.
Just how good are your observation and puzzle solving skills? An amazing adventure sets out to test these attributes.

Despite its strong UK presence, some Logitech products are only available overseas.
The Logitech Cordless Desktop LX310 Laser product consists of a keyboard, mouse, USB RF receiver, software CD and the various batteries required to power the mouse and keyboard. As I had been sent the product direct from , I was not too surprised to find that the keyboard layout followed the standard pattern of positioning some of the keys in locations that might cause confusion some users.
Not everybody can afford the premium price levels of the market leading vector drawing packages. Fortunately there is a more economic offering.
Where "X" use to mark the spot on treasure maps and the like, it is now taking on the role of favoured numeral used by the marketing fraternity to add a touch of style to the version number of certain products. Serif is following this trend with its latest batch of upgraded titles including DrawPlus X2.

Named after an animal, Dymos latest handheld labeller may not be a beast but it is ready for some heavy duty work.
In the past I have looked at a number of dedicated label printers whether of the handheld or desk-mounted variety. Every one of these models, the Brother QL-650TD apart, have been aimed at the home user or office worker who has a need for labelling facilities for envelopes, folders and general household usage. There is, however, another category of user and that is the industrial user.
Its time to strap on your cannon and destroy creatures that are intent on laying your home city to waste.
Up until now the inhabitants of Svetlograd have felt safe and secure from any threats from outside. The protection offered by the surrounding rocks, shrubbery, trees and some magical artefacts has been enough to keep evil forces from disturbing the peace and tranquillity of the city. However a new threat, in the form of an army of evil imps, has appeared and the original protection is not sufficient to hold back this advancing horde.

While better known for their ability to mimic human speak, a parrot of our acquaintance can display your images.
Judging by recent experiences Digital Photo Frames have taken on an attribute normally associated with buses. You do not see one for ages but then two or three turn up in close proximity. Following the Polaroid 10-inch model reviewed not so long ago, it is now the turn of a 7-inch Digital Photo Viewer from Parrot to take centre stage.

Time for more video action as I take a look at the latest webcam to emerge from Logitech.
Joining Logitech's family of webcam devices is the . With more than a passing resemblance to the earlier QuickCam Fusion, this new model is shaped like a stubby lollipop resting on its side with the camera at the bulbous end and the build-in microphone at the other end. There is also a switch mounted alongside the camera for taking snapshots. QuickCam Pro 9000 This webcam's camera functionality is based on Carl Zeiss optics.
Since taking control of Paint Shop Pro, Coral has added Photo to its title and provided annual versions of the software.
Meeting up with an old acquaintance can sometimes be a cultural shock as happened with my first view of the latest version of Corel's Paint Shop Pro Photo product. Now up to X2 (surely if you are following the Roman numeral sequence then this should be XII), has been given a new set of clothes with a graphite grey coloured interface. If this new colour for the interface is not to your taste then you can revert to the familiar old style colour scheme.

While perhaps not in the make your own category, a new drive from Memorex can be personalised.
Recently I have noticed a trend, already well established in the mobile phone and MP3 player arenas, that is beginning to make inroads into other types of mobile devices. The trend in question involves the way that mobile devices are marketed as much for their style quota as for the functionality they offer to users.
Some games lead you in gently; others throw up a brick wall. This next title falls into the latter category.
With a title such as "Bad Mojo" then you should have a pretty good idea that your luck might just be about to run out. That is exactly the situation that faces Roger Samms, a scientist who has been involved in some vary questionable research and experiments (is there any other kind in the virtual world of gaming). But we are getting a little ahead of ourselves, so the subject of Roger and his bad mojo will have to wait for a moment.
The trend towards multiple function devices is spreading with the latest product from Pinnacle being one example.
When is a flash drive not just a flash drive? To answer my own question, it is when the main purpose of the device is to act as a TV tuner receiver which is the case with the product from the Pinnacle stable. With this particular product, Pinnacle has combined the capabilities of a DVB-T tuner with 1GB of flash memory that can be used as storage space.
As a long time user of FileMaker Pro, I was keen to check out the latest version of this cross-platform database product.
While Microsoft would like us to believe that our software options, with regards to Office type products, revolve around Microsoft or Microsoft, there are other options available. For a number of years now my loyalty with regards to a database product has remained constant with FileMaker Pro. The latest edition of this cross-platform (Windows and Mac) database has now reached the heady heights of version 9.
