Described as the ultimate carry-on backpack, the GOBAG 2 offers to provide the regular traveller with the means to fit as much content as possible into the available storage space. As the figure “2” part of its title might indicate, the GOBAG 2 is the follow up offering to the original GOBAG which was launched back in 2015 on the crowd-funding Kickstarter platform. GOBAG 2 is following a similar route with a Kickstarter launch in November 2017.
The GOBAG 2 product adopts a modular approach to its make up. Velcro is used to enable the bag to be customised to suit the user and particular use by the addition and removal of certain modules. Built into the GOBAG 2 is a vacuum compression system that can squeeze out every bit of air from within the content stored in the bag. With the air removed from soft items, such as clothing and towels, more space is created into which you can pack extra items for use on your travels.
While the GOBAG 2 has the ability to allow you to pack even more content within its storage area, the bag’s actual size is such that it still qualifies as a carry-on item of luggage when travelling and can thus remain with the owner rather than being stored elsewhere within the mode of transport. This is especially useful when travelling by plane. By the GOBAG 2 remaining with you, it cuts out the time waiting for your luggage to arrive on the carrousel ready for collection. Is it just me or does your luggage always seems to be the last to arrive?
When gaining access to the insides of the GOBAG 2, the bag can be opened in six different ways with the main full edge zip being 2.5 metres in length. Pull strings, attached for opening and closing the zip fasteners, are made from high tensile strength para cord.
Built into the GOBAG 2 is a transparent removable dry pack for holding certain items. This pack is constructed of TPU coated ballistic nylon. The backpack also features a pocket with a quick release tab to hold a 15-inch laptop. Along with a top pocket for easy access to basic travel documents, there is a hidden pocket for storing valuable items such as passports, wallets and the like. You also get twin bottle pockets.
The GOBAG 2 itself is constructed from TPU coated ballistic nylon. This is the same waterproof and weather-proof material that is used to make inflatable power boats. Protecting maximum-wear areas and where additional support might be required is Hypalon (chlorosulfonated polyethylene(CSPE) synthetic rubber(CSM) noted for its resistance to chemicals, temperature extremes, and ultraviolet light). For ease of transport, the GOBAG 2, when not being worn strapped on the back, can be carried using side and top grab handles. The shoulder straps have magnetic compression connections.
As mentioned earlier, the GOBAG 2 is currently available on the Kickstarter platform. The first 100 backers of this product will be able to get this product for £115 rather than the normal price of £180. Both stated prices include the cost of shipping.
