Brando Foldable Chair & Backpack

Image of author
This is a foldable chair that fits into the back section of a backpack, it can be used separately from the backpack or still attached to it, so ideal for those journeys on a packed train where you can find a corner but cannot find a seat.

The backpack is 35x27x40cm and the chair once assembled is 30x27x29cm. I am told the weight capacity of the chair is 100 kilos just as well as I am very close to that figure.

Let’s deal with the chair first when assembled it is two 20cm wide 19cm side pieces going into an 8cm wide hinge the wide top sides click together by a two piece 2cm wide and 11cm long clip. The top half is two more 20cm wide side pieces that form an overall ‘X’ shape. The sides are two each of 3.5cm webbing lengths. The top that you sit on are three four centimetre wide pieces of webbing when fixed and under strain it was very comfortable to sit upon.

This folds down and fit just inside the padded back of the backpack giving stability to the backpack and you

still have protection for you when wearing it. It has its own zip so even if damp the rest of the backpack stays

dry.

The backpack itself can be used connected or even without the seat inserted.

So from the front there is a zip across half pocket 22cm wide and 15cm deep this zip is protected as when

wearing it will exposed to the elements.

Next the main pocket stated to hold up to a 16inch notebook, it is zipped round three sides to give a 38cm deep

Area that is over 30cm wide, there is a 26cm deep  and 28cm wide open pocket on the back of this area. This

zipped area is also well protected.

There are Velcro topped 20cm deep and 8cm wide side pockets on each side.

Any backpack is only as good as the comfort provided by the backstraps, the two 6cm wide straps provided

good support and the already mentioned breathable fabric stops your back sweating.

For the occasions when it needs to be carried two strong loop handles link together to provide a firm

comfortable holding area.

The material is described as heavy duty polyester; the total capacity is stated as 47 litres.

This is available in either Black or Blue, my black one had a yellow interior.

Available from the link below for $80 (US) which at the time of writing is around £61 and Brando offer free

worldwide shipping.
