RiutBag Crush

A bag within a bag this backpack is very lightweight and indeed folds up to a small size to fit into its own bag for easy transportation when not in use. It’s made of a lightweight material and when folded in its bag it could even fit into a larger handbag and quickly be unfurled to carry a good amount of stuff before fitting onto your back. They even provide a waterproof drawstring bag to put it in for those times when it has been used and got wet.

When folded up in its outer bag it has a size of 20x13cm and its weight is 270 grams.

When unfolded it becomes 39x28x13cm the last figure is at the top and bottom, the central area is slightly more at 15cm.

The straps are well padded so it does sit comfortably on your shoulders, as a well-built man I needed the extension to easily fit onto my shoulders but a thin smaller person could easily take these in via the fitting strap and give several centimeters less in overall size.

While this is not one for a weekends hiking it is one to give you extra storage on your back after say a shopping trip.

So let’s see what can fit in it and perhaps far more important what can be carried comfortably as the material all round is quite thin so no sharp edges.

It happily took a small laptop but I would certainly not put a power supply/main lead in it.

Now as to weight I added a large bag of flour, a bag of sugar and a very large bag of rice and a few other bits a total of five kilos of weight and walked happily around by local area with it on my back, if I had put those in a carrier bag I would have soon been swapping hands freqently.

However this lightweight bag has another big plus for those travelling on public transport or on crowded streets, security, all the zips are on the inside so you are safe from pick pockets or should I say pick backpacks.

There are three separate compartments two quite small and the main larger one, all have zips around the base so it needs to be put down on something to remove contents.

They do have more expensive and larger backpacks with more padding but this smaller one main selling point is its lack of size especially when folded up, it provides extra storage for those unexpected extra items.

The RiutBag Crush is available from the link below for £39.
