Mi 10T Lite

Not actually a new company but one that that I have not reviewed before, the company is called Xiaomi, and like a lot of recent SmartPhones comes to me via Vodafone. As far as I can tell this company has not incurred the wrath of the USA as it comes with Google and G-Mail.

The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite measures 15.3x7.5x.7cm apart from the circle of its back that has its four cameras that protrudes a little more and it weighs 219grams. The notional diagonal imperial measurement is 6.6 inches. 2mm down from the top of the screen in the centre is the front camera so it does protrude into the viewable area. However the items to the left and right are the housekeeping ones so it does not really detract.

Boot up time is 14 seconds and shutdown is 2.5 seconds. The screen is 1080x2400 it is Gorilla glass as is the back, the frame is aluminium. The colour is Pearl Grey which looks very close to Black to me. The battery is 4820mAh and supports fast charge at 33W.

Going around the outside has the volume rocker slightly proud on the right side with the on/off button below it and slightly recessed. The base has speaker, USB ‘C’ slot which can also handle an OTG device and 3.5mm socket for headphones. The left side has the SIM entry point. The top has a pin hole microphone. The back has a round raised 3.5cm circular area which contains the units four cameras. To the left of this on the back is the LED flash.

The unit has Android 10, mine had 64GB of storage around ¼ of this is used, looking at the specifications on the Vodafone site says the unit comes with 128GB of storage. It comes with NFC and Bluetooth 5 and has a 120Hz refresh rate. It has 6GB RAM. The processor is Qualcomm Snapdragon 750 with 5G it runs at up to 2.84GHz.

The four rear cameras are in two rows of two, first the 64MP main camera which has a Sony IMX682 sensor with f/1.89 aperture, and beside this the 8MP ultra-wide camera with 120 degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. On the second line the 2MP macro camera with focus as near as 4cm, finally the 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Video can be 4K at 30FPS and slow motion video is HD at up to 960FPS. The Selfie camera is 16MP.

This is the lite version of the Mi 10T so I assume the Mi 10T must have even higher specifications.

I enjoyed testing this unit although the 5G was not tested as I do not have 5G within my allowed one Hour walking distance however it worked fine on 4G.

The cameras took some excellent shots in early morning light at the local lake.

It is available from Vodafone on various plans which all have unlimited calls and texts, the entry level data is 6GB a month and that costs £34 a month with a £29 upfront payment.
