Samsung are one of the most popular brands of Android Smartphones. As with most recent Smartphones the main advances are made with the cameras and for that reason you could say this is a camera phone as a lot of people no longer bother to carry a camera day to day.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra measures 16.1x7.2x1cm the last figure is at the large camera area top left .2cm less for the rest of the thickness, it weighs 225 grams. The viewable screen is 7x15.7cm which gives the notional diagonal imperial measurement of 6.8inches. The screen resolution is 3200x1440 and can display 16 million colours.

Going around the outside has the volume rocker and below that the on button both on the right side. The base has speaker USB ‘C’ (USB 3.2) microphone and SIM entry point. The left side is clear. The top has microphone. The back is matt and has the camera array top left.

It is stated to be dust and water resistant to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. It comes with an Exynos 2100 5nm chipset; it is Octa-core at up to 2.9GHz. It has 128GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.

It is 5G but as that has not reached my area yet it worked fine on 4G.

The 5000mAh hour battery should last all but the very heaviest user for two days.

The Android version is 11.

So now onto the cameras, the rear has four, 108MP f1.8 wide, 12MP f2.2 ultra-wide, 10MP f2.4 telephoto and 10MP f4.9 telephoto. The front facing camera is 40MP f2.2 26mm wide.

The video ability is immense it can even capture 8K @ 24fps, 4K @ 60fps 1080p @ 240fps and 720p @ 960fps. There are 3x and 10x optical lock options available.

The previous paragraph should explain why I called it a camera phone, during my test period I got some amazing images and some great videos.

This is a very nice unit; it worked well during my test period and my visits around and about were well peppered by me taking so many photos and videos, I became almost like a tourist.

If you are into photography then this piece of kit is for you so many options and choices not hidden away but available from the front screen four fixed optical zoom options at a touch of the screen it’s great.

In the box are a Quick Start Guide a SIM insertion pin and USB ‘C’ charge and data cable.

Various pay monthly deals are available from Vodafone for £32 per month with £29 upfront on a 36 month contract. It is available in matt black or silver and for those who need it there is even a 256GB storage option.
