AWIGOR has added to its Rainbow Mosaics series of titles. This latest addition, sub-titled Detective Helper, continues the reporting on the activities of a friendly robot who is keen to learn more about human behaviour and provide assistance to them whenever it can. In this title the friendly robot has been accused of a crime that he did not commit, As a result the robot, wearing a detective hat, has little choice but to progress through 130 levels of challenging game play in order to track down the real culprit who committed the crime.
Following the pattern established in the early titles in the series, you can adjust volume levels used in the game, opt to play in a choice of Standard or Expert mode and select the tile set to be used during the game. Featuring a similar backdrop to those appearing in the earlier episodes, the game's levels are set out in a winding trail. This trail must be followed in sequence although you do have the options to return to a previous level if the need arises should arise.
Arranged around the winding trail are various check points that will award bonuses for achieving specific targets regarding performance. There are also icons representing the available power-ups that can be put to some use during the game. Depending on your needs, these power-ups can be used to identify a single cell or area in the grid.
As a kind of wake-up call, the actual game elements opens with a Hidden Object scene, This will require you to find a number of items listed in text format that might be in the presented scene. Once completed this scene will then switch to a constant stream of Nonogram game play as you create mosaics from layers that use different colours to blend into a mosaic. These mosaics will be created by following numeric clues laid out across the top and down the left side of the grid. In some cases the layers used in the Nonogram section will feature a mini game that requires you to fit irregular shapes into a set area. You can skip this task if it does not appeal.
By completing the game's different tasks you will receive financial rewards. You can use these rewards to increase the power effect of the game's power-up tools. There is also an option to enhance the backdrop effects by adding different elements which can be purchased as decorations by using rewards earned during the game.
"Rainbow Mosaics - Detective Helper" can be downloaded from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99 or from Big Fish Games priced at £7.55. The game requires a 1.6 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 60.2MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
