This is a multi-function unit which means, print, copy, scan and for those who still want/need it fax. However this unit has something extra the ability to print up to A3 and while it is a good deal wider than most A4 units it is not that much deeper or taller.

The HP OfficeJet 7510 all-in-one printer measures 45cm deep including the paper tray, 48cm wide and 28cm tall to the top of the sheet feed. It weights 13kilos.
The unit has a single substantial paper tray at the base which has a good weight of lid which is the output tray. The tray will take 250 sheets of standard weight paper and according to the specifications up to 60 sheets of photo paper (15x10cm size). All sizes of paper except A3 and A3+ fit totally inside the measurements given, the last two require the lid to be removed as they extend by a few centimetres from the front but feed still works perfectly well. Interestingly it supports weights up to 250 g/m² although the recommended is only half that. Paper is inserted in the tray face down and is delivered on the shelf face up.
Connections are at the back left for power, fax, Ethernet and USB. This is a four ink unit.
On the front at the bottom left USB – for Input – and the on/off button. Everything else is controlled by touch on the 7x4cm screen set at 45degrees with the Wi-Fi indicator to the right of this screen.
As a copier it can reduce to 25% and increase to 400%, the smallest size is 15x10cm and the largest A3+. The ADF (Auto Document Feeder) can be loaded with up to 35 sheets; there is also a flatbed for items that cannot be fed through the ADF.
The scanner can be as high as 1200x1200dpi, and can scale between 25 and 400%.
Copying does not need the PC to be connected and scanning can be started either from the PC or the unit.
The fax quality is 300x300dpi.
The unit can be connected via Ethernet, Wi-Fi or USB and the front port for direct printing is USB2.
Power Consumption is 28watts for printing, 20watts for copying, 5watts in standby and 2watts when sleeping.
The starter cartridges support 400pages in black and 330pages in colour.
It is nice to see more than one print speed quoted, draft up to 33PPM, 15PPM for the ISO image or normal, and, 3.5PPM for best. I was perfectly happy with my normal tests and the draft was still perfectly readable and still black. Colour printing is only a little slower.
From stand by there is around a ten second delay from pressing print to things starting to happen at the unit whichever mode you are in.
The installation of the software took around ten minutes and used around 500MB of disc space. The OCR software supplied is by IRIS.
The display has three distinct areas the top line shows time and date, then by default the main area – around two thirds of the display – shows three icons Copy, Fax and Scan. Below this the last line has six smaller icons.
The HP Office Jet 7510 is a rather nice well priced multi-function unit with the added advantage of being able to work with up to A3+, it also comes with a three year warranty.
