Based on a variety of locations dotted around the home environment, AVI Games has developed version 3 of its Sweet Home – Look and Find offering. This title combines a mixture of Hidden Object searching tasks and some mini game puzzle solving within a gaming environment that you can view in full screen mode with adjustable volume levels for aspects of background music and sound effects plus the aid of a tutorial.
The Home gaming environment is split into various areas which are populated with different tasks through which you need to progress in a set order. This latest version of Look and Find follows a pattern consisting of a double dose of Hidden Object game play with an additional puzzle. Once this combination of Hidden Object and puzzle solving activity is completed then you will be able to move on to the next area making up the Home.
Hidden Object game play will generally consist of two stages that you need to work through. Forming part of the two stages will be an overlaid panel holding the various tasks that are required for the particular stage. Taking up a central position in the panel will be a selection of items that can be found within the scene. These items could be listed in text format, either individually or as a designated number of one type of item. Sometimes, rather than text, silhouettes, images or a certain type of item, such as origami creations, might be displayed to reflect the current challenge.
The panel may also contain a silhouette area show further items you need to find. Most scenes in the Home area will also feature household pets in the form of cats and dogs. You will need to find a set number of these animals for a successful Look and Find clearance. In some cases a scene will display an outbreak of sparkles indicating the entry point to an area that could hold required items. Assisting you in these tasks are a magnifying facility and a recharging Hint feature.
Following the completion of a scene you will be awarded stars coloured red, yellow and blue depending upon your performance. You will also be awarded points which are automatically converted into coins for use elsewhere in the game.
As mentioned earlier, Hidden Object game play will be followed by a puzzle. This section could feature a variety of mini game puzzles. You could be asked to find the 15 difference between two side-by-side scenes or set about cycle through different sections of three images to create three scenes. Other types of puzzles might involve travelling through a maze with gates that turn after every use; select tiles that fit together to create a pattern and fill an area; rearrange a scene that has been cut into horizontal strips; arrange mugs based on their colour; and change the symbols of linked items.
Points are awarded with each successful puzzle completion. Once changed to coins, you can use them to pay for the furnishing of a My Apartment available from the game’s main menu. This feature shows s dummy area which can be filled with images of real items with set fixed prices.
The My Apartment is also available as part of the product’s bonus items bundled with the Collector’s Edition version of this title. Other bonus offerings include 8 extra levels, 8 extra puzzles, 12 additional games, wallpaper and access to a music player facility.
