This is a printer, scanner and copier unit from HP. Like other recent offerings from HP you get the option of having free replacement cartridges sent by post should you wish. However if you print 'not so much' you can use it like other manufacturers units without a contract.

click image to enlargeThe HP Envy 6120e measures 43x35x13cm and is a Wi-Fi only unit. Unlike some other recent units if you decide not to have a contract you can still set it up for more than a single unit. I set it up first with my Android Phone and then with a Windows Desktop PC, the first uses the setup in the Getting Started booklet and the second using the link shown when the initial setup nears completion.
The only connection is on the back left where the two pin 1.2 metre mains lead attaches and just above it is the on/off button. After switch on there is a 42 second wait for the front left control unit to start up, this displays three words across the 5x3.5cm touch display. Menu, Copy, Scan if you move your finger from right to left it then shows the other two options Supplies and Help. It has a 9 second shutdown. Behind the display are two lights white and blue, the white shows it has power and the blue Wi-Fi.
Below this is the paper input tray which goes the whole length front to back. Above this is the remaining 27cm of the depth and on the top is the lift up paper tray. Just below this lifts up to reveal the inside and in the clearly marked area is where you insert the supplied black and colour cartridges.
Printing is not that noisy and the touch display shows what the name of the document it is printing. There is a swing out 16cm arm to catch printed pages as the emerge.
Print quality is fine both in black for documents and colour for images. This is a basic unit that is ideal for home use.
At the time of publication the HP Envy 6120 all-in-one printer is available from Amazon for £59.99 with free delivery. This link also doubles the normal 'free ink' offer from three months to six months.
