True Wireless Speakers

Image of author
A pair of good quality speakers sold as ‘True Wireless Speakers’ which they are but they can also be used with RCA sockets, Optical, 3.5mm socket and even USB stick. Or course you still need power but by default when you power on they will default to receiving their signals via Bluetooth. Here they can also be used separately should you wish to.

The speakers are each 23x15x24cm the last figure the depth allows for connection of the power cable. Each speaker weighs 3.3 kilos.

While there are controls on top of each speaker, they can also be controlled from your phone or other unit and there is also a remote control supplied.

The User Guide suggests ramping the volume to maximum on the speaker and assuming your SmartPhone as the input then turning the volume down from that.

Power leads are supplied in USA and European socket formats but the UK has not been forgotten as adapters are supplied to be used with the European leads.

The inputs to the speakers are via 24 volt adapters.

Also supplied in the box are a 3.5mm audio lead and an RCA to 3.5mm lead to allow for input from many other devices such as CD players and LP decks.

Looking at the face of each speaker has the Treble Speaker at the top with Remote Control Receiver below that and then the Bass Speaker. The rated output is 50 watts per channel and the frequency response is 20Hz-20kHz

The speaker drivers are 4 inch CLARl-t Woofers and 1.5 inch Tweeters.

The rear has a line below half wat down of Optical, Auxiliary Input and USB. Below this also in a line Power on/off, DC input and Line in RCA connections.

The base has four rubber feet one at each corner.

If you use the Remote Control there are also buttons for Movie, News and Music EQ settings.

While these are sold as ‘True Wireless Speakers’ I also used the other inputs and nothing disappointed so while it’s a very quick near instantaneous connection for Bluetooth the other options are sequentially controlled.

Linking each speaker to give true stereo is a quick connection and you decide which then becomes the master, easy to link or unlink.

Plenty of sound and plenty of bass within that overall figure the output from my phone has never sounded better even when the source is only streamed music.

This is a very nice set of speakers which are able to perform a multitude of functions. When you register you get a five year guarantee.

At the time of publication the uStream One from Mitchell Acoustics speakers are available in Black or White from Amazon, priced at £499.
