No sooner had I send off my report on the arrival of a new speaker system from Tronsmart than information arrived regarding the launch of a new speaker from Fyne Audio.  This is a company founded in 2017 as the brainchild of six audio-industry professionals.  Based in Scotland, Fyne Audio, the UK's fastest growing audiophile brand, has developed their latest offering which is the F500SP speaker model.

The development of the F500SP owes a lot to the company's earlier models with the F500 and F600 products being particularly prominent in this respect.  Following on from their previous successful products, Fyne Audio has taken some of the ideas and features used in these earlier products.  These features were then enhanced before being integrated into the company's latest offering.

The cabinet used by the F500SP is based on an enhanced version of that used by the F500.  It features a higher density fibreboard construction and advanced BassTrax porting system with a Tactrix profile diffuser mounted on a thick aluminium base plate.  This is integrated in a bespoke rigid cast aluminium chassis to produce a bookshelf style of loudspeaker.

Set within the chassis is a 150mm (6") IsoFlare driver based on technology and engineering that was originally developed for the high end F700 IsoFlare unit.  This driver features a bespoke multi-fibre bass/mid cone that has an innovative FyneFlute roll surround.  There is also a separate flux focusing magnet to increase low frequency efficiency while maintaining a flat response through low bass frequencies.  High frequencies are handled by the same 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter with neodymium magnet system that is found on the F700.

Fyne Audio feels that the F500SP design will help with regards to positioning this  bookshelf loudspeaker.  The Fyne F500SP is due to be available in September.  Pricing for either the Piano Gloss Black or White is set out £1299.99 with a Piano Gloss Walnut Veneer costing £1499.99.
