Pure, a market leader in the field of stylish DAB+ radio products, has expanded its range of DAB+ radio devices with the release of its Elan Move product.  This digital radio, available in a choice of Sand (my review sample) or Black, comes with the claim of being ultra-portable and pocket size.  Unless you have pockets larger than those I am used to, I would disagree with the latter claim but then I could switch to using the Pure Move 2500 offering with its credit card size which usually accompanies me when attending cricket Test Matches.

But size apart, the Elan Move is certainly eminently portable.  Measuring 6.8 x 15.8 x 3.9cm (W x H x D) with a weight of 265g, this product can provide a number of audio related features.  Situated on the rear of the unit is an extendable aerial for connecting to DAB+ and FM radio signals without adding to the size of the unit.

Decorating the front of the unit is a 1.4-inch LCD matrix display for providing visual feedback with adjustable brightness.  Arranged alongside and below the screen are various control buttons for selecting and adjusting features.  There are button to store favourites, change the source, adjust volume levels, set the audio EQ, scan and skip between DAB+ and FM stations.  You have the ability to assign 40 DAB+ and FM presets for easy access.

While a little fiddly, these buttons should deliver all the functions you require.  In some cases you need to get use to using a quick or longer press to get the required response for the service you require.  Positioned alongside the button arrangement is the unit's speaker facility which delivers 1.5W of output via its 2-inch mono driver that certainly appealed to my ears.

Earlier I mentioned that this digital radio was capable of accessing DAB+ and FM radio signal.  But that is not the full limit of the unit's audio output capability.  The Elan Move supports Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.  This facility allows for the Elan Move to be paired to devices such as a smartphone, laptop and the like.  You can then stream content stored on these devices via a Bluetooth connection and listen to the audio output from such products.

Powering the Elan Move is an integrated 1,800 mAh rechargeable battery.  This battery, which can be topped up using the supplied USB-C to USB-A lead, is rated at providing up to 16 hours of listening output.  Situated on the side of the Elan Move, is the USB connection port sitting alongside an on/off button and a connection for headphones which is not supplied.

The Elan Move from Pure is well worth considering for its range of range of DAB+, FM radio and Bluetooth connectivity.  It is has been priced at £44.99.
