Oppo Find X3 Pro

Oppo are an upcoming company who hit the UK a few years ago, they made a big splash with small well positioned adverts at Wimbledon and other such events. Of course all this would mean nothing if their phones were not up to scratch. This is one of a range of recently released offerings.

The Oppo Find X3 Pro measures 16x7.4x.8cm the last figure expands to 1cm around the cameras on the back top left of the unit, unlike other units this one champers the edges around the cameras.

The on/off button is on the right, the base has speaker, microphone, USB ‘C’ connection and the SIM entry point. The left side has buttons for volume down and up. The top is clear.

The viewable screen is 15.2x6.8cm which gives the notional diagonal imperial measurement of 6.7inches and the unit weighs 195grams. The units display is 1440x3216. It has Gorilla glass 5.

Boot up is 16 seconds while shutdown is 2 seconds.

It runs Android 11 and Color OS 11.2. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Octa-core processor. It has 256GB of storage and 12GB of Ram. The battery is 4500mAh so should allow most to get two days use between charges. It also supports super-fast charging stated to charge from 0% to 100% in 35 minutes.

The specifications state it is dust/waterproof to a depth of 1.5metres for up to 30 minutes.

Next the cameras the back has 2x50MP offering one billion colours; there are also 13MP and 5MP offerings. The front Selfie offering is 32MP f2.4.

I spent a good deal of time capturing a range of video and tested the various zoom functions in capture and the results played back were rather good. It can capture 4K at both 30 and 60FPS; it can do the same in 1080p. Slow motion video can be captured in 1080p at up to 240fps. You can even take still photos simultaneously while capturing 4K video.

The front camera can capture 1080p at 30fps.

Regular readers will find a further review from me on another offering in this latest range from Oppo published on the 7th July to see if what that offers suits your needs better.

This was a nice phone but like so many what it can do best is take photos and videos, it is almost like the ability of it as a phone has reached maximum, sure it’s fast and should you live in a 5G area this is ready to go but it is also very rapid in 4G. The screen colour is good and there is enough brightness for all but the brightest days without you wanting more.

It is available on a range of plans from Vodafone for £54 per month with £29 upfront.
