Recently I reviewed, on this site, a security camera from Neos. the UK's first smart home insurance provider. Available from sources, such as the all-encompassing Amazon store, this SmartCam has adopted the name of its founder company and is known as the Neos camera. Since my original review, Neos has launched a SmartCam upgrade entitled Neos Boost which has been designed to enhance the original product's basic feature set.
With the new Neos Boost upgrade, customer will be able to capture more key moment on their SmartCam. Video clip sizes can be increased from just 12 seconds up to a more reasonable one minute of duration. The Boost upgrade comes with 12 hours of Cloud storage that is available on a daily basis in which the enlarged captured video clips can be stored.
In addition Neos Boost customers will also get the ability to personalise their in-app notifications. With this ability it is possible to select specific areas to monitor. These areas could be limited to locations such as windows, doors or even the baby's cot or playpen. This should ensure you are not inundated with notifications every time the family pet starts to stir itself, causing an unnecessary notification to be sent, unless, of course, you want to know the pet's every move, As well as designating specific areas for monitoring, customers can set up a Security monitor to cover those periods when you will prefer not to be undisturbed by arming and disarming the Neos SmartCam while you are at home or absent from the premises plus a "Do Not Disturb" period..
To take advantage of the Neos Boost facility, you will need to have the original Neos SmartCam. The Neos Boost upgrade is available on a monthly subscription fee. The initial 30-days of Neos Boost will be free and subsequent subscription will cost £3,49 per month. According to Neos, the Neos Boost is easy and quick to set up using the Neos app. As yet I have not personally tested the Neos Boost upgrade.
