Jixo - Magical Nights continues Mixo's desire to challenge the player's puzzle solving capability. Available in Collector's Edition format, this title presents the player with a range of puzzles. These puzzles can be selected by category and then by type as you solve a variety of logic puzzles, Hidden Object scenes and visual challenges.
Central to the player's choice of action, this puzzle collection is built around a choice of ten different categories. Providing the background sceneries used by the puzzles are categories listed as Autumn Glow, Harvest Moon, Enchanted Grove, Festival of Light, Winter Wonderland, Christmas Magic, Night Wanderers, Midnight Sparkle, Love is in the Air and Carnival Nights. With each category you will be able to make a selection from a choice of puzzles that could include Torn Pieces, Jigsaws, Hidden Object scenes, Tile Matching and a Locked Box puzzle.
Opting for a Torn Pieces puzzle you will need to position a series of parts of an image within the spaces found within a scene. Each piece then melds itself into an image under repair. A Hint option is available to suggest the area to tackle next with the appropriate place.
A Jigsaw puzzle will give you the choice of a scene split into 15, 28 or 45 pieces. Appropriate pieces are position into the work area by the drag and drop method. Once positioned correctly, a piece will be locked in place.
The Hidden Object puzzle presents a scene from which you need to select a variety of items. These items will be listed on a number of name tags with an accompanying number to indicate when multiple objects are available. An outbreak of sparkles will indicate secret areas which can be visited in search of items. Options are available to zoom in on a scene or identify a required item when necessary.
A Tile Matching puzzle will involve a Mah-Jong style of play. You will need to clear a layout of tiles so that you uncover and collect a number of black tiles. Tiles are removed by pairing one of the tiles in the layout with a match from a separate panel of tiles. A Hint option is available when required.
A Locked Box puzzle consists of an arrangement of tiles. Each tile will bear an arrow symbol pointing up, down, left or right indicating the only direction in which the tile can be moved. You need to clear all the tiles in the layout to complete the puzzle.
During the various elements of game play coins will appear. By collecting these coins you can build up a balance to help unlock bonus content. This section will be made up of Crosswords, Solitaire Fun and more Locked Boxes plus the opportunity to check awards and background scenes.
