Arriving from 8 Floor Games is an invitation to explore a variety of scenes within a number of countries. This invitation comes in the form of the company's World Wonders 2 - Hidden Histories title. This offering is available in Collector's Edition format covering Hidden Object game play with more than a taste of mini puzzle game solving.
With options to adjust music and sound effects volume levels plus opting to play the game in full screen mode with a custom cursor, this title presents a travel schedule that covers areas of France, Italy, Japan, America, Brazil, Australia, Germany and South Africa. Each visited country comes with an allocation of 27 stars to award to the player. You can earn these stars by completing Hidden Object game play and solve puzzle tasks that are available with each country.
Starting with France, the game then leads you through a variety of tasks set in the other countries featured in this title. The first task in a country's sequence will be that of a Hidden Object scene. You will be required to find a list of items presented in text format. Assisting you in the search will be tools that provide a Hint to the position of a yet to be found item and the ability to magnify part of the scene around the mouse pointer. You will also be provided with a circular portal to visit a second scene that will have its own list of required items.
At the completion of this pair of Hidden Object scenes, you will be graded as to your actual performance. The time taken to complete the scenes will be listed along with the number of points and stars earned. You will be provided with the option to replay the scenes to improve your rating or continue to the next task.
The next stage of your journey will involve a mini game puzzle type challenge. You might be asked to spot the differences between two side-by-side scenes or select and then colour in the various elements of an outline scene by using the mouse as your paint brush. Another type of puzzle might involve putting together the pieces of a jigsaw to create a scene or swap and rotate circular sections of a scene to recreate the picture. Another puzzle type might require you to find an object that has been broken up into small sections and then scattered around a scene.
As you earn stars through the completion of Hidden Object scenes and solving mini game puzzles, you will be granted access to more information regarding the current country and its history. There will also be an option to collect rare artefacts relating to the particular country.
