Body Hair Removal
As part of its line up of recommended grooming gifts for the man, who wants to look his best for every occasion, the Philips Series 1000 is an electric razor. However unlike most electric razors, this product has been designed not for use on the face but instead for other areas of the masculine body. As a result this product is classified as a BodyGroom device offering a manscaping experience for those wishing to have the ultimate smooth body without any unwanted hair.
This kit consists of the handheld body grooming unit, a docking station, 3-pin plug and power charging lead, 3mm clip-on comb attachment and various items of documentation. The body groomer unit is predominately matte black in colour although it does feature a series of three lacquered, decorative tracks taking a curved path down either side of the unit’s handle. Orange trims run around the head of the unit and around the power button and the Philips logo decorating this unit.
Built into the body of this device is a rechargeable battery. Recharging the battery is carried out using the supplied docking station which connects to an appropriate power source via the bundled lead and 3-pin plug. Power is transferred to the bodygroomer via a pair of contact point positioned near the base of its handle element. Philips has taken the decision not to include an option for a direct charging facility with this device. A full charging session can take up to eight hours and this will give you, in return, 50 minutes of shaving power for tackling the removal of unwanted hair appearing on the body.
The business end of the device is its head. This element is made up of a central foil cutting area sandwiched between two trimmer blades running along either side. These trimmer blades can be used in either direction. In an effort to reduce any skin irritation, the trimmer blades feature pearl tips using an upward and downward motion. This arrangement of foil and trimmers allows for a shave and trim action to be carried out from a single stroke so reducing the amount of work required for the smooth body look.
The ergonomic design of the bodygroomer’s handle allows for a firm grip in either hand. Up and down movements can be carried out without any need for a change of grip position. The unit’s power button is conveniently placed on the front of the handle where it is easily accessible by the user when required.
This bodygroomer is for use from the neck downwards and is definitely not a replacement for a regular shaver. When removing hair, the device has no capability for collecting the hair that it removes from the body. Fortunately the device is waterproof so that it could be used in the shower. This would reduce the need to collect any unwanted and removed hair for disposal. When necessary you can clean the unit’s head and blades by holding the bodygroomer under a running tap.
Philips has listed this product with a £20.00 price tag for those looking for a present to purchase for the man with body hair that he does not want. I hesitate to suggest you might offer to do the hair removal yourself as an additional bonus.
