I must admit that there was some hesitation on my part before actually deciding to review this next title.  However the opportunity to view how the mixture of puzzle solving, presentation and biblical influences would come together won the day.  As a result I fired up Divine Journey 2 - The Five Books of Moses to check it out prior to reviewing its content.

Developed by Brave Giant, this title draws its biblical content from the Books of Genesis and Exodus.  From this material, the game begins with the Creation of the World followed by the introduction of animals, nature, man and woman.  Events are then covered by the Garden of Eden, Original Sin and the first case of Fratricide before Noah's Ark, the Tower of Babel, Sodom's depravity, Esau and Jacob and topics placed under the spotlight.  Topics that follow include Joseph being sold by his brother, Pharaoh's Dream and Moses' encounter with the Burning Bush taking centre stage.

With each of these dramatic events, the game links them to four distinct puzzles assigned from a group that is made up of 13 different styles of challenges.  Each challenge is identified by a single name title.  Making up the group are puzzles entitled Switch, Swap, Pairs, Place, Details, Slide, Nonogram, Rotation, Align, Differences, Jigsaw, Twist and Push.  Individual puzzles will appear multiple times to create each set of four to accompany the themes but featuring a different image and shape element to challenge the skills of the player.

While you are shown the four puzzles associated with the current theme, you will be limited to tackling them in order.  As each puzzle is completed, or skipped, the appropriate section of text relating to the story and its biblical reference in both text and spoken dialogue will be presented.  There is no option to cur this section short if you are in a hurry to get back to puzzle solving mode.  Each theme of four puzzles will need to be completed before you are allowed to move on to the next part of the story.

You can download this biblical collection of puzzles and story retelling from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  You can also download it from Big Fish Games priced at £14.84.  The game requires a 2.0 GHz processor with 4096MB of RAM and 591MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
