DIGIMIGHT has not strayed too far from its familiar pattern of game play style it has established with its recent Adventure Mosaics series. The latest offering from the company is entitled Historic Mosaics. Rather than the modern day settings of the earlier titles, this offering takes the player back through time to the period of Ancient Greece. Another minor change involves the switch with Ruby, a shy librarian, taking on the role of leader from Eillie. Other content tends to remain the remains the same in pattern or style.
The usual assortment of adjustable options are available to create the required playing environment. You can set volume levels for background music and sound effects plus opt for full screen viewing while using a custom mouse cursor. You will have the chance to select from six available tile sets when creating mosaics. Depending upon whether you select either the Casual or Advanced difficulty level, completed numbers will be grey out individually immediately or being held back until a row or column was completed.
Based on Nonogram game play, this titles features 150 levels of Japanese crossword puzzles. The levels are divided into five groups of 30 with each group being located in a specific Ancient Greece area. The Nonogram gaming aspect, comprising of six coloured layers which you will need to complete in order to finish up with an appropriate mosaic, require you to fill in cells within a grid using numeric clues arranged across the top and down the left side of the grid.
As you progress through the levels of a location, you will receive a reward of a piece of an image. These pieces can be either slotted together individually in as build sector or when you have the complete set to form a particular scene. Once such a scene is completed then you will be able to move on to the next location and face another set of 30 levels.
Mixed in with the Nonogram game play will be various mini game puzzles representing scenic images. These puzzles require you to rotate a series of interlocked circles which, when positioned correctly, deliver a scene image. You can play these puzzles as many times as you wish as a break from producing Nonogram mosaics.
Puzzle solvers can download this title from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99. The game requires a 1.0 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM with 328MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
