click image to enlargeLike so many things today you download an App to your phone and then you always know the conditions of the various items. Once downloaded select the model of your Smart Hub with Chime – it wants the part number in this case Tapo H100 found on the front of the box, setup an account and log in after this you just need to select any devices you have to connect to it.
The Smart Hub is 7x4.5x3.5cm and the good news for people like me who have skirting board sockets the plug is the lowest part of the unit.
The first device I setup was a Temperature and Humidity Sensor this is one click away Tapo T310 from a list and this is now set to warn the Smart Hub if you are above or below the correct range probably most useful in a bedroom of the very young or very old. This comes with a solid internal battery that is activated once you pull out the strip poking out from its back. You can see the temperature at a glance at any time in the App.
This unit is 4x4x1cm and can be attached anywhere.
The other two devices I was sent are a Motion Sensor and a Contact Sensor.
The Motion Sensor is 3.7x3.7x3.5cm and as the back attaches to a wall or ceiling there is some adjustment to allow you to cover the greatest area.
The Contact Sensor is two parts one on the inside of a door or window rim and the other part within a short distance in line but on the door or window.
Once setup any of the devices will notify your phone once activated so in the case of the temperature sensor you know if a room is to hot or cold. In the case of the motion sensor you know if there is movement when there should not be. Perhaps most interesting is the contact sensor so you know if a door or window is open.
At the time of publication these items are available from Amazon priced as follows:
All the devices require the Smart Hub.
