Elephant Games "Paranormal Files - Fatal Flaw is a Hidden Object Adventure title that is available in Collector's Edition format with the usual mixture of bonus items.  Along with the ability to make adjustments to different aspects of the gaming environment, you have the choice of playing the game in Casual, Advanced, Hardcore or Custom difficulty.

The game casts you in the role of Rick Rogers an expert in the investigation of paranormal activity.  On arriving back at your apartment, following your previous mission, you rec4eive a call from a professor at the Corrigate College who had just been attacked by a colleague.  The reason you have been informed of the incident is that the attacker had been pronounced dead the day before the attack occurred which meant paranormal issues were involved.

As the attack occurred at Corrigate College, this was the obvious place to begin your investigation.  Accompanied by the usual collection of tools, covering a Map, Task, Inventory including a mobile phone which will double as a communication device and a torch for investigation dark places, Strategy Guide and Hint features, your arrival at the College grounds coincides with the appearance of a ghostly figure of the recently deceased attacker, namely Lillian Foster.

This ghostly figure, even in its spirit guise, had the strength to leave a handprint clearly visible outlined on a stone statue.  Clearly this was not some kind of student prank but something of a more serious paranormal issue which calls for your expertise in such paranormal issues.

Additional research reveals that Lillian Foster, the deceased attacker, had undergone a complete change of attitude following her discovery of a Mayan comb during the course of her work at the College.  Previously she had been close to Professor Chris Stines but, following the discovery of the Mayan comb, she became engaged to Timothy Shaker before imprisoning him in a coffin.  It also becomes clear that Lillian does have strong objections to you trying to interfere in her plans which appear to have been inspired by the Mayan comb.

While most of the game action, and your investigation, will be based on the grounds of Corrigate College as you complete various mini game puzzles and Hidden Object scenes.  You will need to visit Lillian's home where you could find a secret room, as you attempt to bring the Mayan comb under some sort of control.  This will be necessary to release Lillian from the spell she has fallen under.

While visually impressive, this title failed to capture my full attention.  It was not a game that I enjoyed playing but maybe you will find it more appealing.  You can download this title from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99 or from Big Fish Games priced at £10.54.  The game requires a 2.5 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 706MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
