"Hidden Weekend - The American Getaway" is a Hidden Object title from Avi Games,  Available in Collector's Edition format, this title combines a series of Hidden Object scenes with a scattering of mini game puzzles.  The various scenes used by the game are set around different activities enjoyed by Americans in their leisure time. 

This title divides its content for the main game into blocks of four items.  These blocks, displayed in photo album style, show their four tasks, made up of three Hidden Object scenes and an accompanying puzzle, over a double page view.  You need to work through these four items in sequence in order to gain entry and make progress to the next block.

With some slight variation regarding the positioning of some specific Hidden Object scenes, you will be required to find a required list of items that you will need to locate somewhere in the picture.  The list could be presented in text format, as silhouettes, part of the scene or as pairs of items.  Along with the required list, scenes will also contain several other items that include a Raccoon, a souvenir that is available to purchase and sometimes secret areas indicated by an outbreak of sparkles that allow you to entry in search of items.

After completing a Block's Hidden Object scenes, you will be faced by a mini game puzzle featuring a skip option and an occasional Hint tool.  The puzzle could require you to recreate a picture or scene.  In order to carry out this task you might be asked to rotate segments, arrange triangles in their correct position or put together square sections into the form of a jigsaw,  Other puzzle types could involve Spotting the Difference between two similar scenes, find matching pairs of face down cards, sort cup cakes into correct groups and return balls to their home bases.

Having completed the different Hidden Object locations and mini game addition, you will then have access to the title's Collector's Edition bonus items,  These extras include a number of additional location plus further puzzles.  You will be able to purchase, using the in-game rewards, any souvenirs you may not have found during the main game, listen to in-game music and create your own ideal weekend facility resort.

"Hidden Weekend - The American Getaway" can be downloaded from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  It is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £11.32.  System requirements call for a 1.6 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 750MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
