Using works of art as the source material, this next title lets you master the art of Jigsaw completion.

Usually when a jigsaw puzzle title arrives for review it is from 8Floor Games.  However with this next particular offering, the title is from Denda Games.  Entitled House of Jigsaw - Master of Art, this product features jigsaw images that are based on the work of such artists as Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Monet and Munch to supply the visual aspect of the jigsaws being completed.

Prior to dipping into the jigsaw solving aspect of the product, you can make certain decisions regarding adjustments to the general gaming environment that provides your work space.  Adjustments can be made to the background music and sound effect levels.  You can also opt to view the game in full screen mode using a custom cursor.  For those who are multi-lingual, there is also a an option to have any supplied instructions displayed in a variety of European languages.

While concentrating on the various Masters of Art mentioned earlier, the program comes with 102 images that have been split into four groups headed by a well-known work of art.  Each group allows you to cycle through its content as you make your chosen selection of the jigsaw image that will demand your attention.  The chosen image will then be transferred to an area where you will be permitted to make a couple of adjustments to the images settings.  Two slider bars are provided and these will allow you to select from one of the four different shaped pieces supported by the game plus make an adjustment to the number of pieces making up the puzzle.  The default number of pieces appears to be 30 but you can increase this figure up to 1024.

With your choice of settings applied, the image will be broken up and converted into jigsaw pieces which will be arranged around a frame area for use when constructing the jigsaw.  Jigsaw pieces can be selected and moved into position using the mouse.  You will also have access to a small selection of tools to aid the construction process of the jigsaw.  Tools are available to switch between working with edge or inner pieces, view a brief tutorial, zoom in and out of the image plus display a ghost image within the frame area to assist when placing pieces.

Once a supplied jigsaw image has been completed, its presence in the main selection of images will be marked with an eye symbol.  You can then select a symbol enhanced image for saving and use the results as wallpaper or a screensaver.

House of Jigsaw - Masters of Art can be downloaded from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  It can also be downloaded from Big Fish Games where it is priced at £7.56.  This title requires a 1.2 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 302MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
