The FreshUp by Bosche is an item to remove smells and odors from your clothes. Not just personal odors but also smoke and food smells.
It is 16x6.5x3.5cm and comes with what looks like a slip in glasses case, charging is by USB but for those without a USB port there is also a mains plug front supplied in the box. A full charge of the internal battery is around three hours, while charging a very bright white LED flashes on top of the unit, the on/off button is beside the LED. The supplied USB lead plugs in at the opposite end.
The technology is Plasma something that was tried in TV screens a while ago.
Simply wipe the unit over the area to remove smells from and a purple light will show you that the Plasma is working. While you can use on slightly damp areas it is really designed to function on dry materials.
When you turn it on a criss cross pattern of white lines appear on the top of the unit and when you wipe over affected material the purple light replaces the white light and there is very faint heat in the area you are working on.
While you would normally work on something hanging up I managed to use it without problems on something while I was wearing it. However this is not recommended as the 5cm area on the base that is the Plasma area needs to be in full contact with the area needing treatment.
Cleaning of the FreshUp unit should only be done when off and you should only use a dry cloth to clean.
Being an elderly man I am not that fussy for day to day wear but if the occasion arises I can still look smart and a once over of my suit can save a dry cleaning bill so with a few outings that would almost immediately make the purchase worthwhile.
While most would use this at Home it is also useful while out and about when a change of items is not possible. Also good for those who travel and it could even save on excess baggage charges.
