Avi Games has added to its Motorhome series of titles with version 3 of its on-the-road software. This Hidden Object title is available in Collector's Edition format. It takes the player on a trip through parts of North America on a proscribed route covering an area stretching from Portland to Key West that will show scenes that are full of atmosphere and interesting items.
This follow-up title continues with the routine established in the earlier entry in this series. Your trip will place you in the company of John, Grace, Stacey and the family's dog Lucky. You will need to follow the set route as you are presented with Hidden Object game play and mini puzzle activity to help supplement the scenic views. While the main focus of this title will involve the testing of your game playing skills, the game does feature a general knowledge section. This general knowledge involves snippets of information about the places visited and is used as linking sequences delivered by a member of your group.
At each of the route's stop-over points, your initial task will be of a Hidden Object scene which is often divided into two stages. The two-stage approach does mean that there is a choice of different methods of listing the required items. The type used could be text, silhouettes, a set number of a type or parts of a scene. Sometimes with txt, the use of either blue or red colour will indicate if a task will need to be carried out of the item will be covered in some way.
Present in Hidden Object scenes will be a Raccoon and a Polaroid camera. The Raccoon does have a tendency to hide behind objects or people where it might be hard to find. Once found the camera will take a snap shot of the scene and place the image in a photo album feature.
Many of the game's Hidden Object scenes will contain a couple of secret areas indicated by an outbreak of sparkles. These areas may contain items you need to find. Assisting your search for items will be an available zoom feature and a recharging Hint tool.
Once a Hidden Object scene has been completed then you will be presented with a mini game puzzle. Among the different puzzles featured in the game are those dealing with rearranging stripes to produce a scene, finding pairs of face down cards, swap segments to produce a scene or spot the differences between two side-by-side scenes and complete a irregular jigsaw.
Various bonus extra items are available once the main game has been completed. These bonus items are made up of 8 bonus levels and accompanying puzzles plus some extra puzzles. You will also have access to the photo album section plus various wallpaper images and the opportunity to use points earned during the game to purchase a baseball cap.
This title can be downloaded from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99. You can also download it from Big Fish Games where it is priced at £14.96. The game requires a 1.6 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 874MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
