Aurvana Trio LS Earbuds and SXFI AMP

A set of in ear earbuds from Creative bundled with the SXFI AMP is what this latest offering from Creative Labs to cross my desk is, and while I do not normally want to know the price before completing the review on this occasion I needed to know if this was one or two reviews and as it’s a bundle only price that is 36.67% of the separate selling price.

The wired earbuds have magnetic backs, 12cm down the lead from the buds is a tiny 2x.5x.5cm control a further 20cm down the two leads become one and stay joined for the final 80cm till the gold plated 3.5mm plug.

You can use the earbuds like this if your phone still has a 3.5mm socket. However to appreciate the full quality of your music use the SXFI Amp supplied in this bundle and to connect this you need to have a USB ‘C’ port on your phone and the AMP comes with a 12cm long USB ‘C’ to USB ‘C’ cable that plugs into one end of the AMP the other end plugs into the USB ‘C’ port on your phone. On the other end of the AMP plug in the 3.5mm plug from the earbuds.

The AMP is 6x1.6x.8cm and has a recessed button on it then a + and – rocker with a proud button in between. These controls are important as you will almost certainly be using them blind to control the output so that differential is important.

The total weight of the earbuds, the cable and the AMP is only 36 grams. For those using a phone powered by micro USB there is an adapter in the box.

As with all earbuds and headphones I test sound quality with the whole range of Genres of music and speech including those I dislike, here with both the earbuds and the AMP clarity of sound and music was fine.

The earbuds have LSR drivers and this stands for Liquid Silicon Drivers.

While the AMP may be small its powerful enough to work with any headphones as well as the earbuds it is bundled with.

As with so many earbuds there is an App but here it has a purpose you give three photos of your face and ears and it personalizes the output to suit you as we all hear sound differently. I used it before and after downloading the App and there was a distinct difference to the sound.

The text on the Creative link at the end explains it better.

Most people use low quality MP3 files on their phones try finding FLAC copies on the same files and you will hear the difference, some streaming services have higher quality options I can assure you it’s worth the extra cost. You can download them over Wi-Fi (around ten times the size of an MP3 file) but the quality is worth it.

If you watch movies on your phone the quality transforms your experience, I am told it’s the same for Gamers but as that is not me I have to take others word for that.

Aurvana Trio LS Earbuds and SFXI AMP bundle is available from the link below for only £64.99.
