Working in Horizon Bay

Have you considered a career as a Handyman or Repairer? If so this next title might help you decide whether this form of employment might appeal.

Following the earlier RestorArt - Paradise Hills, the next offering in the RestorArt family switches its location to Horizon Bay where you will find plenty of new customers,  They will offer you the opportunity to carry out various tasks to test your skills as a possible Handyman or Odd Job man.

This game can be played with adjustable volume levels for background music and sound effects with a choice of Casual, Normal or Extreme difficulty level.  Helping get you into the appropriate Handyman role, you get to select from a choice of studio for your base by completing a Hidden Object style test.  Aiding you in any of the Hidden Object tasks that you will need to undertake in the game will be a rechargeable Hint feature and a Zoom option.  Unlike other Zoom options that I have come across recently, the feature in this game  enlarges the whole screen with the ability to scroll up, down, left or right when searching for items.

The appropriate work area assigned to you consists of the districts within Horizon Bay.  You start off in the Racehill area before moving on to accept work from the residents in Ravenwood and then Silvergrove.  Offers of work come in the form of video messages sent via email mentioning the task and the cash remuneration for the successful completion of the work.  The offered tasks generally tend to fall into six different categories which need to be carried out without further discussion with the client.

When the proposed task involves the cleaning up of a scene, you will need to test your Hidden Object skills by searching for items listed as names or presented in clue format.  You will be provided with Hint and Zoom features as mentioned earlier.  When your task involves restoring a valuable painting that has been damaged in some way, you will need to place sections of the original painting so that they automatically mould themselves into the rest of the image.  You will be provided with a tool that can suggest which piece to select for insertion and it general positioning in the image.

Sometimes your task will involve a locked box puzzle.  This item is made up of a series of tiles with each one bearing an arrow symbol indicating in which direction it can be moved.  You will need to clear away all the tiles one by one by moving them in the designated direction.  When completing a paint-by-numbers painting task, you are limited by the restriction to use only the colour numbers in a side panel.

The final two tasks on offer have been caused by a younger family member of the client adding childlike decorations to a work-of-art.  As a result sometimes you will need to remove stickers from the work-of-art.  The stickers can only be removed if they refer to a particular subject matter or theme.  In the case of a stamp collection, these items have been jumbled up and need to be sorted in order by being selected in pairs.

As mentioned earlier you are offered a cash reward for completing these tasks.  You could also receive an added bonus depending upon performance.  The money earned from these tasks and bonuses can be used to purchase tools and facilities to decorate your studio.

Having satisfied all your clients in the three districts, you will be able to tackle a further 24 mixture of puzzle games available as part of the game's Collector's Edition format.  Other further features available from this bonus section include the chance to view certificates you have earned and read the story of Horizon Bay.

Those wanting to test their puzzle solving skills can download this title from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  It is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £14.96.  The game requires a 1.6 GHz processor with 2048MB of RAM and 2.85GB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
