Mind Echoes - The Lost Mysteries is a Hidden Adventure game that casts you in the role of Emily Rivers.  She is a forensic investigator and medium who sets out to investigate a haunted hotel that is somehow connected to her parent's disappearance many years ago.  Developed by Do Games, this title is available in Collector's Edition format.  As usual some of the bundled extra bonus items will be available immediately while others will require a certain amount of progress to be made before access is granted.

Having lost her parents 10 years ago, your character often wonders what may have happened to her parent and what caused their disappearance.    Now following a recent visit to her mother's esoteric shop, Emily found evidence that might explain what may have happened to her parents.   It seemed their last case involved them investigating some strange paranormal incidents goings-on at the Starlight Dreams Hotel.  Guests were going missing without any explanation and the local authorities were unable to discover why.   Now, having discovered her parent's uncompleted notes, Emily decided to complete the investigation herself.

Assisting Emily in her investigation will be the usual arrangement of tools dotted around the screen area.  In their familiar position will be various tools running across the bottom of the screen.  This set of tools will consist of a Journal recording Notes and Tasks, a Map for teleporting between locations, Inventory, Strategy Guide and Hint feature. 

There will also be an EMF device.  This particular tool is extremely using in the investigation of paranormal incidents.  It can be used to detect anomalous evidence indicating the presence of paranormal activity in the immediate vicinity.  It will tend to glow when it can be put to good use.  There are also fly-out icons, positioned on either side of the screen to provide details of Collectibles gathered and Decisions made to affect this flow of game play.

Arriving at the site of the Starlight Dreams Hotel, you are met by a building that is undergoing a redevelopment and repair progress following a major fire and other forms of damage.  Making matters worse was the occurrence of a number of accidents that were happening on site.  In order to succeed you will need to explore different floors of the hotel as you spend time investigating the Nether and real world situations.  As you travel around, you will encounter ghosts, some friendly but others not, as you search for personal possessions for use in a ritual to free them from the grip the Hotel has on them.

Mixed in with your paranormal activity and use of the EMF device, you will encounter mini game puzzles and Hidden Object scenes.  Varied in style and type of challenge, this title's mini puzzle games will give you the choice of an Easy or Hard version of the required task.  Identified by an outbreak of sparkles, Hidden Object game play could ask you to find or replace items in a scene as you look for items displayed as silhouettes, part of a scene, differences or in pairs.  You will also have an option to Match 3 game play if that suits.
