The Great Library is not a location you would visit on a whim as entry is restricted to those who have legitimate business there.  Fortunately, as this next game, casts you in the role of Megan Webster, a librarian, you are allowed access to this vast store of books who have the ability to provide portals to other worlds.  In this particular offering, Book Travelers 2 - A Royal Story whisks you off to the world of The Three Musketeers where the legendary D-Artagnan is under the threat of being erased from the story of his adventures.

Developed by Elephant Games, and available in Collector's Edition format, this Hidden Object Adventure game inserts you into a role within the story of the French Queen and her jewellery.  Having made the necessary adjustments to sound and viewing aspects, you can opt to play the game using a choice of Casual, Advanced, Hardware or Custom levels of difficulty.

At the start of this game you can take advantage of a tutorial style opening that will introduce you to some of the game's feature such as a Map, Task and Inventory options.  You will also have assistance from your mouse cursor which changes shape to indicate when in the vicinity of possible useful actions.

Receiving a message from your friend Tom at the Library, you go there to discover a masked man throwing books around.  However before you have the chance to deal with this disruption action, you discover that somebody is attempting to erase D-Artagnan from the story of the Three Musketeers and so the game begins in earnest.  Faced with a mixture of scenes that either appear in full colour mode or initially appear as sketches before being filled in with extra details and colour, you will need to guide D'Artagnan and his companions through a variety of tasks and situations.

Once present in one of the locations making up the Musketeer story, you could be faced with a variety of tasks starting with being accepted by Porthos, Athos and Aramis, you then need to aid D'Artagnan.  You will need to aid D'Artagnan as he practices his skills at preparing and mounting a horde, getting involved in a sword fight, acting as a jeweller on repairing the Queen's jewels, using a magnifying glass to find clues and work with a mind-reading device.  Being a musketeer requires a multi-skilled ability.

While your main task will involve stopping D'Artagnan from being erased and foiling the Cardinal's plans, you will also need to discover who provided the Cardinal with the means to erase D'Artagnan from the story.  As part of this task you will need to find the necessary ingredients and perform the special ritual to ensure D'Artagnan can play his full part in the story.

With the main game completed, you will have gained access to the various bonus items that form part of the Collector's Element of this product.  You can replay the 14 Hidden Object challenges and 13 mini game puzzles that feature during the main game.  You can also visit a Secret Room and put together a jigsaw from pieces collected during the main game plus check out the busts of famous authors that include Oscar Wilde, William Shakespeare, Agatha Christie, Jules Verne, Nark Twain and Alexandre Dumas scattered throughout the game.
