AWIGOR continues its story dealing with the activities of the Robot Helper who is keen to investigate the behaviour of humans at different times of the year. This latest addition to the Rainbow Mosaics series has now reached the Easter period and its accompanying associated features.
As usual the friendly and inquisitive Helper gives you the chance to adjust the volume levels for the background music and various sound effects. However I found that I need to readjust the background music volume level every time I loaded the product. Fortunately the same issue did not occur with selecting either casual or expert difficulty level with my choice of set of tiles from those available.
Apart from a few minor differences, due to seasonal changes, the game’s overall playing area is relatively unchanged. Various pop-like structures, representing specific targets to achieve will be displayed along with various items of decorations which you can purchase to personalised the display once you have earned the funds by completing levels.
The game is built around 120 levels of Nonogram puzzles spread out over a winding path which must be travel in sequence. Each level or puzzle will be made up of six layers that are represented by a different colour or in some cases shade such as a dark or light tone.
You will be able to switch between layers manually or automatically when a layer is complete.
Aided by a series of numeric clues arranged across the top and left side of the layer, you will need to decide which cells in rows and columns will need to be filled in or left blank.
Sometimes one of the layers of a Nonogram puzzle will feature an additional mini game puzzle. This will challenge you to fill a restricted enclosed area with a set of irregular shaped blocks. A skill option will be available with this task should it prove too difficult.
Providing some assistance in completing a level with be some rechargeable power-ups. Three such types of power-ups are available. These will identify a random cell to be filled, reveal the content of a user-selected cell or a selected area. Later in the game you will be able to enhance the performance of these power-ups using points earned from completing levels. You will also be allowed to make up to four mistakes before having to start the level again. Once all the layers of the grid have been completed, you will be rewarded with a mosaic and can move on to the next level.
Meanwhile as you progress through the game’s level, the Helper will be busy doing what it does best. It will be making mistakes as it considers issues regarding why Eggs and Bunnies play such a part in Easter. The Helper will free bunnies from trap to feed on a farmer’s crop and try to convince chickens to lay chocolate eggs rather then the standard variety.
Rainbow Mosaics Easter Helper can be downloaded from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99. You can also download it from Big Fish Games where it is priced at "5.18. The game requires a 1.6MB processor with 1024MB of RAM and 65.3MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
