Animal Puzzle Solitaire

Offering you a choice of Solitaire types of play, this next title has an animal focus.

Solitaire games that usually come my way tend to be based on the popular chain creating concept with cards being selected one up or down from the previous selection within a story-based environment.  However this next Solitaire offering takes a slightly different approach.  Rather than stick with a single Solitaire format, this title offers the player a choice of game styles within an animal-themed background environment.  Entitled "Animal Puzzle Solitaire", this title comes from Revills Games.

When playing this game you will be able to select from four different types of Solitaire game play.  You can play Solitaire in the usual one up / one down method of clearing layouts, Match 2 selection, Make 14 or Make 10 formats plus opt for letting the software opt for a random selection.  Match 2 Solitaire requires you to remove pairs of cards.  Make 14 and Make 10 Solitaire options involve removing cards whose face value adds up to the appropriate number.

Which ever style of Solitaire you opt for, you still retain control over audio volume levels, cursor size and the portrayal of cards with user-selected decorations that could use animal images of the front face.  When playing your choice of Solitaire you have a choice of Relaxed, Casual, Normal or Hard difficulty with or without a tutorial.

Revills Games has spread this Solitaire title action over 200 levels which are sub-divided into 20 slots that each have 10 separate layouts of cards.  The initial 20 slots need to be tackled in order with each one offering the chance to select the type of Solitaire game that you will face.  Some of the card used in the different layouts will bear the mark of a paw print which you will need to collect as part of the layout clearance process procedure.

Some layouts will also feature an occasional card that can be used as an Undo feature, Wild card or Joker card.  These cards can be saved for further use.  You also have the option to purchased more of these types of cards from the game's built-in shop feature using money earned elsewhere during the game.

At various points during some Solitaire clearance sessions, your attention will be diverted by the appearance of a mini game.  You may be challenged to guess whether the next card in a sequence will be higher or lower than the previous card.  Other mini game puzzles could involve a game of Blackjack or trying to find pairs of animals on face down cards.

You can download Animal Puzzle Solitaire from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  It is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £7.49.  The game requires a 1.0 GHz processor with 256MB of RAM and 66.2MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
