This is a 27inch UHD multi view flat panel from Philips. Up to 144Hz refresh rate is possible and all in a small footprint. It has a good amount of rear tilt and a little forward movement so ideal for those who play games or even for business users. It has decent speakers for those needing to present and as with most recent panels a wide viewing angle.

The Phillips 27inch Momentum 5000 is just more than 61cm wide and only 34cm tall and at its edges only 2cm thick. It has a four sided open ‘M’ shaped base 16.5x15.5cm, 34cm wide base that raises it by between 9.5cm and 19.5cm from your desk; you can also pivot it to view in landscape mode.

For those into serious gaming this panels 1ms refresh rate could save your life in so many games.

4K (UHD) 3840x2160 display is ultra-clear. This is not just for gamers CAD users will also love the sharpness and clarity of the display. 3D Graphics also really come alive with this panel.

The 144Hz refresh rate is nearly three times as fast as the standard 60Hz.

There is a single white LED towards the right edge of the screen surround. All the panels controls are activated from a nipple on the rear of the unit 12cm up and 6cm in from the right side. There are eight different modes available directly from a single left push. In fact having all the controls from a single nipple is a lot easier than the normal four or five buttons in a horizontal line.

Of course there is a Low Blue Mode as well as Flicker free.

The screen aspect ratio is 16:9 and pixel density is 163PPI.

The connections are HDMI and Display Port, two of each. There is a USB hub with all four ports on the rear in a single line and two of these are always on. There is also a headphone out port for those considerate gamers who do not want to disturb others during their nocturnal times.

This is a great panel even if you are not a gamer and with the 1ms refresh great for those needing to use it for long hours. The easy read mode is great for those long Internet pages.

While this not cheap you only get one pair of eyes.

A the time of publication the Philips Momentum 5000 27M1F58 is available from Amazon for £629.
