The time has come for the Dwarves to leave their underground home area and venture out to the wide open spaces of the outside world.  As the various members of the Dwarf community gathered around, Chief Gumdark issued the royal command that this was to be the land where the new Dwarf village was to stand.  Various discussions followed as it was decided that the new buildings making up the village must be build by stone masons once the blessing of Thorgar, the god of stone and hearth, had been obeyed.

It was further decided that each building would need its own rune stone as its central point.  The source of the rune stone could only be found deep in the earth.  The finding of rune stones was so difficult it would need the skill of an expert.  As a result this task was assigned to Luckstorm Luckbringer.  This is the role you must take on in the Kasual Kode developed game of Dwarf Saga.  This game allows for the usual adjustments to be made to sound volume levels plus a choice of options regarding graphic settings plus difficulty levels set at Endless, Timed or Move limited mode.

The game consists of 100 levels of Match 3 game play.  During these levels, in your role as Luckstorm Luckbringer, you will need to clear the tiles and rune stone by the standard method of creating groups of three similar tiles which then disappear to be replaced by other tiles falling downwards.  In some cases the tiles you remove will contain addition qualities that then become available to assist with the removal of other tiles.  You will also have access to supplied power-ups that can remove a single tile, shuffle all tiles and even suggest the next area to focus your attention.

As Luckstorm Luckbringer makes progress in his search for the required rune stones, certain problems will be encountered.  Somebody in the Dwarf community steals the rune stones already found and rumours starts to spread through the villagers that a Stone Eater had made an appearance.  The Stone Eater was a rarely seen creature who would feed on any stones and runes that it could find.

From time to time Luckstorm will be given a break from the hard work of searching for rune stones while also looking for evidence of the Stone Eater.  His Match 3 progress will be interrupted by an animated cut-scene featuring some of the Dwarf villagers with voice dialogue and a mini game puzzle.  Randomly selected from its source of supported mini games, the puzzle could involve a Hidden Object scene with a text list, Solitaire layout, Jigsaw and a Pipe joining challenge to create a flow between source and destination.  Completing a puzzle will increase your point’s total.

Once Luckstorm has created the full set of Match 3 level’s you can replay any levels that might have caused you problems.  You can also access a bonus section that contains a further 50 levels that include taking part in a beard growing competition.

You can download Dwarf Saga from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  It is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £14.77.  The game requires a 1.6 GHz processor and 2048MB of RAM and 314MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
