Continuing with its Connected Hearts series, Domini Games has released Hour of the Witch. Available in Collector's Edition format, bundling a number of bonus items to supplement the main story line, this Hidden Object Adventure, deals with dark magic threatening the Kingdom of Aradon. Ruled by King Severyn, the Kingdom was once again coming under attack in the form of a rebellion led by sorcerers. In order to fend off this threat, Severyn agrees to accept military help from the King of Greenhold in return for agreeing to a marriage between his daughter Princess Aurora and Prince Julien from the Green hold Kingdom. Thus the scene is set for this episode of the Hour of the Witch.
Following the usual adjustments to the playing environment and selecting the difficulty level from the options of Casual, Advanced, Hardcore or Custom modes, the action concentrates on Princess Aurora and her actions as she responds to her father's wishes. While her duty might be an important factor, this Princess has a determined mind and her own plans for driving this game.
There is the usual mixture of features we have come to expect from a Domini Games title. The well-drawn scenes will contain animated figures, overlays indicating important items and split-screen views especially when dialogue is being delivered by various characters. The familiar array of tools will be available and accessible from across the bottom of the screen.
This arrangement will be enhanced by an icon represented the character on which the current action is based. Initially this icon will represent Aurora but later it will switch to Prince Adrian, a brave knight cursed and turned into a monster, with his servant taking on the appearance of a walking talking skeleton, by the witch Selena. The headshot will change whenever they take over the lead role of the game.
While seemingly accepting the wishes of her father, Aurora sets out to do what she can to defeat the threats facing the Kingdom. This results in her being attacks by a wolf, meeting Prince Adrian and discovering that Prince Julien is not as trustworthy as he appears to be. For more information and details of the various twists and turns making up this title, you will need to play the game and discover the rest of the story for yourself.
The game does feature a mixture of tasks that include decision making, Hidden Object scenes and numerous mini game puzzles. As usual with Domini Games developed titles, Hidden Object game play will be indicated by an outbreak of sparkles and you will be given the option to switch to a Match 3 challenge if you so wish. Mini game puzzles come with a choice of switching to either an Easy or Hard version of the puzzle.
