Dark Town Secrets - The Last Burger is a Hidden Object title from Jet Dogs Studios.  Available in Collector's Edition format, the game requires you to complete the main section of the game before being allowed access to the title's bonus offering that include wallpaper, music and a number of additional puzzles.  Incidentally the main game is based on a murder mystery that is spread over 36 levels of game play.

The game's opening sequence opens as a bloodied shirt is discovered mixed in with the rubbish discarded outside the premises of a popular burger bar in Dark Town.  It is isn't long before the owner of the blooded shirt turns up dead and this incident is quickly followed by the discovery of another dead body.  With two dead bodies to investigate, you will have plenty of evidence to sort through as you complete the game's various levels.

These levels, introduced by the same police officer, will consist of a Hidden Object scene which requires you to find numerous items including what might be considered a pile of important evidence.  Presumably the residents of Dark Town have no or little regard for tidiness as all the scenes in this game have a distinct untidy appearance to increase the difficulty of finding required items within searchable locations.

The list of required items could be presented in various formats,  You could be asked to find items listed in text format either appearing individually or in groups of six items at a time. Other methods used could involve looking for loosely connected pairs and items represented in silhouette format.  A rechargeable Hint feature will be available to identify a required item from the presented clutter.

When playing the game I came across a second forma of assistance although I am unsure whether this assistance was meant to occur or not.  When required to find pairs of items, I was struggling to locate the last pairs and I discovered that the Hint feature had been deactivated.  Fortunately by switching to the game's Map level, I was able to restart the current level which then featured a different set of pairs to find.  This time I was able to complete the level without too much difficulty.  Fortunately this was a single occurrence.

Every so often the Hidden Object level will be replaced by a puzzle level.  These puzzle levels could feature recreating a receipt from torn pieces of paper, a school photo from torn pieces or a food wrapper that had been screwed up.  You could even recreate a burger after it had been digested in the victim's stomach, restore evidence by rotating circle or matching the panels needed to open a locker.

Your trip to Dark Town can be delivered by downloading this game from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  It is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £14.86.  The game requires a 1.0 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 726MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
