Celebrating Christmas in America

With the regular mix of Hidden Object game play and puzzle solving, you can explore American locations.

Christmas Across America is a Hidden Object title that is available in Collector's Edition format.  Developed by AVI Games, this title takes you on a trip around America as you visit typical scenes depicting celebrations concerning Christmas as held in different areas.  This journey, with the heavy influence imposed on snow bound locations, will take place in places such as California, New York, Central Park and various local festive events.  Often your stop-over points will feature the presence of Santa's family and his elves such as Flick and Tiksi.

Concentrating on Hidden Object game play, your journey through this game will involve travelling along a stream of locations that must be tackled in sequence.  The encountered Hidden Object scenes will have a distinct feel to them with many of the embedded items being of the small size.  Resident in each location will be a postcard and a number of chocolate chip cookies which you will need to locate for optimum results in your search achievements.

Along with the regular extras, each location will contain several required items.  These items could be listed in silhouette format, as parts of the scene or in text format.  In the case of the latter, any item listed in red indicates that it will be hidden in some way while items listed in blue concern tasks which need to be carried out.  You also need to be on the lookout for the appearance of a silhouette in a snow-globe indicating an item to be found in the scene which could contain a secret area, containing a required item, concealed behind an outbreak of sparkles.

At regular intervals during your progress through a steady diet of Hidden Object scenes, you will encounter one of the game's mini puzzle challenges.  These events might require you to find a set number of differences between two similar side-by-side or top and bottom scenes.  Other puzzles you could encounter might involve recreating a scene by switching the bands it has been broken up into or swapping sections of it around plus arranging the content of a grid so that rows or columns do not contain any duplicates.  Another type of puzzle might require you to slide section of an image up, down, left or right until a required scene is produced.

Once sufficient progress has been completed in the main content, you will be granted access to the product's Collector's Edition bonus features.  You can then try out extra levels, bonus puzzles and test your ability at decorating a Christmas House with the elements purchased during the main game from a built-in store facility.

You can download Christmas Across America from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  The game is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £10.21.  This game's system requirements call for a 1.6 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 514MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
