Christmas in Europe
For its latest excursion into its Big Adventure world, AVI Games has released a festive version of this Hidden Object European journey. Available in Collector's Edition format, Big Adventure -Trip to Europe 6 Christmas comes with a number of extra items to enhance the gaming experience. The extra features are made up of various bonus levels and puzzles plus sections dealing with souvenirs, wallpaper, a music player and stamps collected during the game.
Following the usual Big Adventure pattern established over the previous offerings in this series, you are presented with a pre-planned route taking in various European locations. As you arrive at each location, accompanied by some information about the site. you will be presented with a fairly busy scene. Arranged across the bottom of the scene is a panel made up of items which need to be discovered and a small selection of useful tools.
Positioned centrally in the panel is a list of the main items which will need to be located. These items can be listed in text format, as distinctive patterns or silhouettes which, once found, will need to be replaced within the scene. In the case of a text list, entries coloured red will indicate that the item will be concealed within or behind another object while entries coloured blue will require a task to be performed for their removal.
Situated on the left of the panel is a Snow Globe which will display certain extra items which need to be found. On occasions, next to the Snow Globe, a container will appear showing silhouettes of a further item that will appear a set number of times within the scene waiting to be located. Along with the various items just mentioned, each scene will also contain a raccoon and a stamp. Collecting both of these items will bring a reward.
Each scene will feature one or two special areas indicated by an outbreak of sparkles. These areas can be opened up to reveal a mini scene that could contain required items/ Mini scenes automatically close when they no longer hold appropriate content.
Completing the panel area are three tools which can be used when required. A zoom tool will provide a closer look of the scene as your mouse cursor moves around. The other two tools deliver hint features either by indicating a single item of any remaining items.
Interspersed between the various locations are certain mini game puzzles. Successfully completing these puzzles, which vary in style and difficulty, will bring the reward of points which can be used to purchase souvenirs relating to the game. Later you can tackle the bonus levels and puzzles which are part of the Collector's Edition version.
You can download this game from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99. The game requires a 1.6 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 401MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
