At Sea with StarL 7

Following its tale of Egyptian early history with Pyramid building, elements of time travel and the appearance of alien beings within a Match 3 environment, Itera Labs has opted for a more terrestrial location for its next title in its StarL series.

StarL 7 continues to set the player a variety of challenges as you clear away coloured tiles from a grid platform.  Within its familiar playing area, you will need to create groups of tiles by swapping adjacent tiles to reach the required target to achieve progress.

This time you are brought on-board as somebody who is capable of uncovering the truth behind complex stories.  You are hired to discover what happened to the ship Queen Anne by following a trail spread over 200 levels of Match 3 game play.

The Queen Anne was a brigantine which set sail from New York on November 15th 1872 to deliver a cargo of 1,701 barrels of rectified alcohol to Geneo, Italy.  The vessel was commanded by Captain Briggs, accompanied by his wife Sarah and their two-year old daughter Matilda,  There were also seven crew members to carry out various on-board tasks.

Four weeks after the ship's departure the Queen Anne was found drifting in the Atlantic.  Not a single soul, alive or dead, was found on board.  A small amount of alcohol was missing from the cargo but the food supply had barely been touched leaving you with the circumstances of a mystery to solve from the clues revealed through the 200 levels of Match 3 game play.

Based on a winding trail of Match 3 action that you need to follow, each puzzle will contain the usual mixture of StarL features, you will need to remove covered tiles by swapping two adjacent tiles to create groups of three or more tiles while remembering that available power-up features only work on tiles that are of the same colour as the different elements.  As usual with the StarL series, the tenth Match 3 level switches to a specific challenge and will offer the player the option to skip that level if they so wish.

Along with the Match 3 game play, some of the various stop-over levels will feature an additional item.  Appearing at regular intervals of every fourth level will be an opportunity to add a hand of Solitaire game play to your regular work load.  You can either tackle this diversion immediately or leave it and return to it at a later time.

At certain points during the game, the Solitaire option will be replaced by other information regarding the Queen Anne's fate.  This information could involve a text update of relevant information of an image of a scene from the Queen Anne.  As with the Solitaire option, you can check this update immediately or return to it at a later point during your investigation as to what happened to the Queen Anne.

Your investigation of the fate of the Queen Anne and her crew and the Captain's family, can be downloaded from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  The game will require a 2.0 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 326MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
