Block Rush

By adding rather than removing items, a grid puzzle can change its attitude.

Developed by T1 Games, Block Rush is a new puzzle offering.  You could almost regard Block Run as an inverted Match 3 puzzle game.  Instead of trying to clear away tiles from a grid, you will be required to add tiles to a grid layout playing field.  The idea involved in this game will be to fill rows and/or columns so that you receive an appropriate reward.  Spread over 150 levels of puzzle solving, you will need to use supplied regular shaped blocks to fill the rows and columns available within the current grid.

In Match 3 fashion, each grid that faces you will come with a set challenge,  This will need to be completed in order to move on to the next level and progress through the later stages of the game.  The grid's challenge will consist of a set number of certain items that need to be removed and could include a Star, Heart, Bird, Dog, Apple, Jewel or a Kennel, Nest and Bird House.  Sometimes the item or item allocated to the grid may be embedded in a grid or present in the supplied blocks.  If a completed row or column features an appropriate item then it will be deducted from the grid's current challenge.

As mentioned earlier, the game has 150 levels which are divided into groups of 15 levels.  You can tackle the various grids within a group in any order or allow the program to lead you through the available content.  However you can not access the next group of 15 grids until the current group is completed.  At varying stages through the game, the completion of a group of 15 grids will bring the additional reward of a puzzle offering.  These rewards can then be used to create one of the ten jigsaws that are concealed within Block Run.

Initially I felt this title lacked any addictive quality.  But gradually its appeal grew on me and I found myself playing it for longer sessions.  Its mixture of puzzle solving capability while working out the best strategy to deal with various situations quickly took over my playing time schedule. You were never sure as to which blocks would be made available for use as blocking elements which added to its level of difficulty.
