Mechanical Keyboard

Adding a light enhancing backdrop to your gaming action, this next product allows you to customise your keyboard layout and use.

Trust, a well-known and respected company involved in the manufacturing and production of a variety of computer accessories, has added to its range of devices with the release of its Xyra TKL Gasket Mechanical keyboard.  This particular product is aimed at the gaming community whether forming part of the PC, Playstation or XBIS family who will appreciate the keyboard's functionality and the feedback delivered to the player.

As is my usual approach I have been using this mechanical keyboard as part of my PC set-up.  Decked out in a combination of a white body, which houses dark grey and white keys, the unit has dimensions of 365 x 140 x 33 mm (W x D x H).  Being of the mechanical type of device, the actual keys of this unit will make the required contact with the computer via an arrangement of switches rather than the membrane interface favoured by the more regular keyboard units.  In the case of this product, the keyboard makes use of 5-pin LEOBOG Serva Linear switches for use by its 87 keys plus a further 12 FN keys.  These particular switches have a life time rating of 6,000,000 presses which should be more than plenty for even the most demanding hardcore, non-stop gamer.

Attaching the keyboard to my computer set-up was relatively straightforward.  It just required plugging the supplied USB lead to an available USB port on the system box for the connection to be made.  A small toggle switch situated next to the keyboard's USB-C port can be used to immediately switch between a backlight effect on the keyboard to one that delivers a full customisable RGB lighting illumination giving you the choice of working with 16.8 million colour combinations.

The Light Show effect is not the only aspect of this mechanical keyboard that has its own customisable feature.  The functionality of various keys is at your beck and call.  Provided with this mechanical keyboard is a Key switch puller tool as you tweak your keyboard layout to suit the demands and ease of use for your favourite games and the physical stress and comfort issues it places on your playing style.  You should also gain some benefit from the soft-feel that the unit's keystrokes deliver especially when lengthy gaming sessions are the order of the day.

Those looking to enhance their game playing experience could well consider this product.  Currently this Trust Mechanical Xyra Keyboard  is listed at £79.99 on Amazon UK with a special offer of £59.99.
