Creative SXFI Trio

These earbuds are one of the best buds I have used, ideal for gamers, movie buffs or music fans. Certainly all three examples are improved by these buds they make the standard for those who prefer their enjoyment to be in ear. This is not just another set of earbuds.

These buds are for use on a Tablet or Notebook and also any USB ‘C’ SmartPhone that uses the port via an adapter for sound, you do not need the adapter just plug in the USB ‘C’ and hear your music, sound from your game or movie.

In the box are six pairs of Gels to fit on the buds, the next to largest 15mm are fitted, however you get sizes from 10mm to 16mm and not just jumbled up in a plastic bag but fitted into the box. Fitting a smaller Gel is a little fiddly and I had to turn them inside out to do it.

30cm from the Gel to the ‘Y’ join in the cable; there is then a further 90cm of cable to the USB ‘C’ plug. Around 4cm down from the ‘Y’ join is the 5cm control unit its four buttons and its LED are explained in the 18 language Quick Start Guide which for English is just illustrations. While this is hardly a complex product maybe some information on getting the right Gel size would not go amiss.

Also in the box are a rubberised squeeze case to take the earbuds it contains a tie or shirt clip and a USB ‘C’ to USB adapter for those without a USB ‘C’ port.

Now on to the hardest part describing the sound that the 10mm drivers give. I would say it is very close to that from an on ear set of headphones as the fact that the ear canal is stuffed by Gel there is an amount of noise reduction. As an example playing music at a comfortable level from a recent notebook has the volume level set at 84% as soon as I attach the USB ‘C’ lead the music plays at more or less the same level but the sound is set at 23% automatically.

There is a reasonable amount of bass – not enough for some who like their fillings to rattle – but fine for normal listening. True stereo is also there are removing one Gel gives a totally difference experience.

To get the best experience there is a SXFI App available at the Google Play or Apple Store and this goes as far as some hearing aids do to map your head and ears to get a profile that is all your own.

As the inside of the box says it gives you same experience as a high quality set of speakers in your ears.

The SXFI Trio are available from the link below for £124.99.
