Jigsaws that Move

By adding a number of addition features to its Jigsaw Puzzle offerings. T1 looks to stretch your puzzle solving skills.

T1 Games has taken the basic Jigsaw Puzzle concept and enhanced it with a number of different features when transferring to a computerised environment.  The result is the company's latest Jigsaw World 2 offering.  At its basic level, this title appear to be little more than an opportunity to test your skills at solving 96 different jigsaws but by digging a little deeper you quickly discover a number of surprises awaiting you.

The images supplied as part of this package are presented in a photo style format over eight pages that each contain 12 different pictures.  While the images are of various scenes, not all of the images portrayed are totally static.  On closer inspection some of the scene will have a video sequence integrated as part of the scene or could consist of two different images that tend to change the focus as to which image will take the lead on a regular basis.

When firing up this product, it will open up in default mode which is that of a Jigsaw puzzle with its own personal settings.  In this Jigsaw mode you can select your choice of image and then work through the various settings options.  You can select to have a puzzle with 12, 24, 35, 54, 70, 88, 108 or 190 pieces.  You will also have a choice of opting for the type of connecting the pieces together.  Further choices will allow you to select whether Rotation of the pieces will be turned on or off and whether the puzzle will be graded Easy, Normal or Hard difficulty.

As well as supporting the traditional Jigsaw Puzzle format, Jigsaw World 2 also offers puzzles that are based on Tile Swap, Split Tile and Tile Rotation formats.  The same set of images can be used with any of these puzzle type formats.  Each puzzle type will give you the chance to select how many pieces will make up the puzzle.

A Tile Swap puzzle could be 4 x 6, 6 x 9, 8 x 12, 10 x 15, 12 x 18 or 14 x 21.  When opting for a Split Tile mode puzzle, you will be given a choice of 12, 16, 20, 26, 30 or 40 strips that are in either Horizontal or Vertical orientation.  A Tile Rotation puzzle gives you the same choice as those in Tile Swap.

You can download Jigsaw World 2 from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  The game requires a 1.0 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 186MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
