Creative Outlier Air V2

These in ear Buds are small enough not to exert undue pressure on the ear so they can sit comfortably where others tend to droop down and with the ear being one of the more sensitive parts of the body comfort in that area is important.

Everything about this product is small from the box that is only 11x10.5x5cm to the charger that 8x4x3cm and the buds themselves that are around 1.5x1.5x2cm. The case with buds weights 57grams and the buds themselves weigh only 6grams each.

These are Bluetooth only buds and like most units there are two other sizes of gels in the box. The only other contents are a short 30cm USB ‘C’ to USB lead to charge the charger unit and the multi-language guide.

Let’s start with the charger unit that slides open from one end to reveal the buds with a set of gels attached. On one end is the port for the USB ‘C’ to attach to and this also has three LED’s that show the state of charge to each bud and between these is the state of charge of the units battery that will start to charge the buds immediately they are replaced. The buds only fit one way and they click in place.

The inside of the box lid shows how to pair the buds for the first time and gives a link for anything else which is on the support page of the Creative website. This is where the touch combinations required to go forward, backward, pause and receive calls etc. is found, while there is a large multi-language sheet in the box with the same details it require excellent eyesight to read it.

The other advantage of reading from the PDF file is that the colours given off by the LEDs are shown so should there be a problem it’s easy to follow.

Initial pairing is straightforward however if there is a list of available items brought up look under ‘O’ for Outlier and not ‘C’ for Creative.

The controls are simple to follow as given on the sheet in the box and in the PDF, as always the LEDs are invisible to you when in your ears.

My ears tend to swell after prolonged usage with some buds but as the weight here is distributed around the inner ear and not just on the Gel these were better than most.

You have IPXS sweat protection, Graphene Diaphragm, Dual Voice Call ability and it can also work with Siri and Google Assistant.

Total playtime with the charger and the buds combined is stated to be 34 hours and with a fully charged bud 12 hours.

Sound quality was rather good with enough bass for most and if you use an App on your phone then the possibility of Equalizer styles increase sound variation for the style of your choice.

However they will work fine by just streaming from the service of your choice.

At the time of publication the Creative Outlier Air V2 are available from Amazon for £49.99 including free delivery.
