ODY Trust Keyboard & Mouse Set

Those of us who use a Desktop or Tower system still need a keyboard and a mouse. I have always used wired offerings, these days you are less likely to have special ports instead having connections via USB. So when I got the opportunity to test a set of keyboard and mouse from Trust my own offering was disconnected and the Trust items connected.

They only use a single USB port and being wire less units you are not tethered in any way. The batteries required for both units are already inserted and you just need to pull the small strip of paper out that stops the contact being made. Insert the wireless USB controller and wait a few seconds for Windows to install the driver. There is an on/off switch on the right edge of the keyboard and a similar slider on the base of the mouse.

The first thing I noticed with the keyboard is the silence while I was typing. It is 44x13.5x2cm which is a bit smaller than my own keyboard. There are two flip up feet to raise the keyboard at the rear by a further 2cm.

The keyboard has a total of 105 keys with all bar the function keys being full size. Above the numeric keypad are the normal three LED’s.

The keys are described as ‘low profile’ for a soft keystroke but the movement is still positive so you know the key is pressed and after a few days I was quite used to the silence when typing.

While I have resisted the temptation to spill a cup of coffee over the keys I take as stated that the keyboard is ‘spill resistant’

Now onto the mouse it is tiny at 10cm long 6cm wide at the back and only 5cm wide at the front the maximum height is 3cm so should fit easily into even a small hand. Occasionally when I have not used the mouse for an extended period it is slow to respond but it soon wakes.

It glides smoothly over my desk which has a melamine surface and when I play the occasional game of FreeCell I really notice the ease of movements.

I only used the set on Windows but it is stated to work on Macs and even Chrome.

The ODY Trust Keyboard and mouse set is available from the link below for £14.99
