Planet Buddies Wireless Headphones for kids

While these are sold as for kids they were big enough – with the slide extensions – for me to wear so unless you have a rather large head they could well be suitable for an adult as well. These are solidly built and should certainly stand the rough treatment often handed out by younger children.

The headphones are 16cm wide at the earpieces when opened to horizontal; they are also 16cm from the tip of the earpieces to the inside of the well-padded headband, that is with the 2cm of expansion expanded. The weight of them is 132 grams.

I was surprised that no instructions were given and while I soon worked out the controls – and if I could – I am sure most children could also do so.

To link them via Bluetooth find the grey on/off button at around 7 o-clock on the left earpiece and press it, red and blue LEDs will alternately flash, on your phone in Bluetooth settings it came up as PB Panda HP and link it. A three second push on the button will turn them off.

If however your child has not yet nagged you for a phone you can still connect them via 3.5mm cable to an MP3 player or other such device so you do not have to listen to their choice of music, a 1.5metre 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead is provided.

The settings of PB Panda HP show the amount of charge left in the headphones.

The controls all seem to be on the left headphone and while the red right headphone is marked in a singular way there is no movement there whereas the left has a still amount of movement to do the things like back and forward a track etc.

I was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality of these headphones there was a reasonably amount of bass and the higher register was catered for as well.

I found them comfortable to wear over extended periods of time something I cannot often say as my ears are on the sensitive side.

The headphones are limited to 85dB so no chance of excessive volume levels damaging delicate ears.

There is an 80cm USB to USB ‘C’ lead supplied to charge the headphones and also a fabric carry pouch.

I liked these headphones and was more than happy with the sound quality. The stated time between charges is up to 38 hours.

I was sent the black ones but looking at their website they also do them in blue and red as well.

PB Panda HP is available from the Planet Buddies website for £39.99. At the time of publication they are also available from Amazon for £29.99.
